#Nurse educators, I urge you to refrain from isolating students who disclose their disabilities when measured against a specific set of technical benchmarks. While the transition from nursing academia to practical application is customary, it's essential to recognize the breadth of the nursing #profession. As #educators, our primary responsibility is to guide students toward successful board examinations. However, it remains the prerogative of the students to determine their trajectory within the nursing field. Moreover, it's crucial to acknowledge that individuals with #disabilities often possess valuable skills honed through their everyday experiences.

Case Study Spotlight: Last-minute nursing care for an individual with learning disabilities. ◻️ Requirement: A local authority contacted us to provide immediate care provision to a female adult with Autism and extreme behaviours of distress, as her current care provider had withdrawn due to an increase in aggression towards others and damage to property. ◻️ Solution: The same day, we established a core team of nurses and healthcare assistants with the necessary skills to manage challenging behaviours to keep the client and others safe.
