The guidance for handling after reconstitution is the same for both brands of MMR vaccine (MMRII and Priorix). It is preferable to administer MMR immediately after reconstitution. If not used immediately, the reconstituted vaccine should be store refrigerated (2°C to 8°C [36°F to 46°F]) until use. If reconstituted MMR is not used within 8 hours, it must be discarded. Not that we know. Nearly all vaccines have been reported to be associated with the fainting. Post-vaccination fainting has been most frequently reported after three vaccines commonly given to adolescents (HPV, MenACWY, and Tdap). However, the association with these vaccines may simply reflect the fact that adolescents are generally more likely to experience fainting in response to pain or anxiety. Approximately 7% of people do not develop measles immunity after the first dose of vaccine. This occurs for a variety of reasons. The second dose is to provide another chance to develop measles immunity for people who did not respond to the first dose. DYK that Physicians for Informed Consent are misleading you on this matter. Here are the data and why Physicians for Informed Consent is so wrong. The link is between eczema and asthma. The difference in aluminum exposure (4.07 vs 3.98mg) is not clinically relevant nor significant. As concluded by the authors, this study was, at best, hypothesis generating, and speculative at worse. And the limitations are such that any conclusion of aluminum exposure and asthma should not preclude you to have your child vaccinated. Again, on aluminum, Physicians for Informed Consent shows how ignorant, and biased they are… The average amount of vaccine-related aluminum exposure was 4.07 mg in children with eczema. It was 3.98 mg in children without eczema. Researchers found that: 6.0% of children with eczema developed persistent asthma In children without eczema, 2.1% developed persistent asthma The study authors point out key limitations to the research. The results come from a single observational study. The hypothesis that aluminum from vaccines could cause asthma is “speculative.” And it has not been studied in humans. Researchers also did not take into account other asthma risk factors: such as family history of asthma, a significant factor in children who develop asthma, exposure to secondhand smoke, aluminum in the child’s diet (an average of 10 mg per day – more than twice the amount of aluminum in a vaccine) aluminum in the child’s environment social determinants of health Since these risk factors were not taken into account, doctors could not confirm the link between aluminum in vaccines and persistent asthma in childhood. Parents and caregivers should continue to follow the childhood immunization schedule. It’s the best way to protect children against serious diseases.
