Large Area Sintering (LAS) is on the verge of becoming the new connection technology for the next generation of high power, high efficiency inverters. At the International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society (IMAPS) Power Electronics and Packaging Workshop on November 28th in Tours. Dr. Thorsten Vehoff from Heraeus Electronics will share insights on how LAS surpasses soldering in reliability and cooling for high-power chips, extending the range of electric vehicles. Learn about Heraeus mAgic PE360 paste's ability to ensure sintering at ~200°C and ~10 MPa pressure. Additionally, he will show results of shear and thermal shock testing from -55 to +150°C and explain how to influence the reliability of the sinter joint by adjustments to heat sink, substrate and interface based on experiments and simulations.
