🔍 Pneumonia remains the leading infectious cause of child mortality worldwide. In India, it claims over 100,000 young lives annually among children under 5. The toll is particularly devastating in Jharkhand State, home to over 3.6 million children in this age group, where we tragically lose 8-10 young lives to this disease every day.
👉 Our recent workshop focused on reviewing the initiatives, plans, and progress made by development partners with the support of National Health Mission, Jharkhand, in addressing childhood pneumonia among children under 5. We brought together a diverse array of stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues and recommend actions to intensify efforts against childhood pneumonia in the state.
💊Terre des hommes showcased their digital health initiative, IeDA/eIMNCI, implemented in partnership with NHM Jharkhand. It is revolutionizing childhood illness detection and treatment in the state. Shockingly, nearly 60% of children assessed with IeDA exhibited respiratory issues, with 5% diagnosed with severe pneumonia.
🤝 The forum united development agencies, private institutions, and government bodies to strategize on awareness-raising and intervention tactics. Together, we are committed to saving young lives and combating childhood pneumonia in Jharkhand.

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are medical conditions or diseases that are not transmissible from person to person. They typically have long durations and generally slow progressions.
NCDs are often driven by lifestyle factors such as poor diet, lack of physical activity, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption. They are now the leading cause of death globally, responsible for more than 70% of all deaths each year.
To control and prevent NCDs, Sri Sathya Sai Aarogya Vahini organizes 5-6 health camps daily at different locations all over India. All services are rendered free of cost. Today's camp locations are 𝑴𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂 𝒊𝒏 𝑾𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒍, 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒄𝒉𝒂 𝑩𝒖𝒓𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒉 𝒊𝒏 𝑱𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑲𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒑𝒖𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑮𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒂 𝒊𝒏 𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒓, 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒂.

In the wake of the rise in cardiac arrest cases, it is important to assess the health of people residing in rural areas. It’s an initiative to take health services closer to people by Trinity Care Foundation 🌞 in rural #Karnataka
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the leading cause of death and disability in India. The CVD epidemic in Indians is characterized by a higher relative risk burden, an earlier age of onset, higher case fatality and higher premature deaths.
Inadequate ECG (electrocardiography) facilities and delayed diagnosis is leading to deaths in a majority of heart attack cases in rural areas.

1 in 3 Indian Children suffer from Worm infections.
Deworming is not just a day but a necessity!
Every year, India tackles this silent invader.
Millions of children receive a safe, single dose of medicine to combat these parasites on this day.
But this isn't just a one-day fix;
It's a crucial step in protecting those who harbor these harmful worms.
Worm infections can stunt growth, weaken immunity, and steal vital nutrients.
This impacts millions of children's cognitive and physical development.
Research shows National Deworming Day improves school attendance, cognitive function, and adult income potential.
But the battle isn't over.
Challenges like poor sanitation and inadequate water access create fertile ground for worm reinfection.
We need to go beyond just one day and invest in proper sanitization & sustainable solutions.
National Deworming Day is a powerful reminder.
Do not just treat worms one day, but build a worm-free future for every child in India.

In a shocking revelation that shatters the very foundation of our trust in #healthcare, preventable #medical blunders stand as an unfathomable 3rd on the grim ledger of death in the US, claiming lives between a staggering 220,000 and 440,000 souls annually. This harrowing statistic is tantamount to an unending nightmare for families—a relentless wave of catastrophic failures at the very hands meant to heal them, equivalent to one "9/11" incident each week without ceasing.
God knows how many people die every year in India due to medical errors. I am extrapolating it to be in millions every year.
How did we descend into this abyss where avoidable medical missteps rank as one of #humanity's most lethal killers? How have we arrived at an era where the sanctity of life is endangered not by disease or affliction but by the very institutions designed to preserve it, particularly within hospital walls?
These preventable #tragedies in medical facilities mark a chilling third largest cause for mortality, casting long shadows over our collective conscience and demanding an urgent reckoning.
