You can have both. There are cases where a patient has both a primary caregiver within their family and a professional caregiver. Is there a need for both? Although it might not be a need, balance can be what maintains and strengthens relationships. So, if you can have both, do it. Respite is crucial for family caregivers. For family members who serve as primary caregivers, having additional support from professional caregivers can provide much-needed respite and relief. It allows family caregivers to take breaks, attend to their own needs, and prevent burnout. Having experienced both, I can help families navigate and balance these two forms of support. Let’s connect! ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center is a great place to start if you are looking for respite resources. #caregiver #caregiversupport #booklaunch #caregivers
