FiletOfFish1066 and the Part-Time Property Developer! One of my favorite examples of humans’ remarkable ability to take ownership of bad situations comes from a Reddit user, FiletOfFish1066. In 2016, this software developer made headlines for getting fired after six years at his job. His work in quality assurance was monotonous, so he spent his first eight months programming software to automate his tasks. For the next five and a half years, he essentially did no real work, playing games and browsing Reddit instead. Eventually, IT discovered his automation, and he was fired. 🚀 Instead of being fired, FiletOfFish1066 should have been promoted. His ingenuity in automating his tasks showcased a remarkable ability to optimize processes and improve efficiency. 🏡 In real estate investment, especially in turnkey HMO processes, the same principle applies. Life has been a roller-coaster ride, and yet, here we are! Just a few weeks back, I remember being unsure of what the future holds, and what should the most logical next steps be for me. I decided to take a step back, brainstorm the problems I've been facing, and build projects that I would love to use. That's where I got the idea of "Second Brain for Youtube". Within a few weeks, I had: - a working prototype for a Chrome extension - had a meeting with Steffen Bleher and got to build using the Capacities API - built the complete working extension - launched it on Product Hunt - Got real people using it and sharing how it helped them! - Switched the entire codebase to run entirely on the client-side for added security measures - Had my extension be listed as one of the 3 community integrations listed on Capacities - Waiting to see what professional journey I get to embark upon now Consistency is key, but passion is the catalyst!
