“ Engine-Out to a Field “ (First Part) Well, your engine is gone and you are flying towards a field. Now, if you are right above the landing site for off field landing, how do you adjust your flight to land from above the intended landing site? "Suppose I've lost an engine and I want to land directly under the plane at 3,000 feet. How should I approach for this landing?" First slow down and maintain between best glide speed and about 10 knots below that. That's because a) the best glide is usually published for gross weight and your weight will be somewhere below that unless you've just flown, and b) minimum sink speed actually maximizes your time before landing. At least the sink is about halfway between the best glide speed and staying away from the stall.Given that this is a stressful moment,it's good to keep the speed between your best glide or vbg and "best glide speed minus 10". Assuming you are flying from the left seat, turn left by 10-30 degrees.Stand within half a mile of your target field and assess two things.Plan your final approach to avoid large obstacles such as trees, buildings and power lines-if you can see them. And secondly, check the planning for the downwind landing if it is practical. You want to land as slowly as you can and slow down. This is a sudden deceleration to a complete stop. If you have time,at least squeak a midi with the relevant code with your transponder, and if you can, create a fast air flow by increasing the airspeed to restart the engine with the propeller. Just remember"gas, air, spark".If the windshield is covered with oil, skip this restart. Also,if you find that your chosen site is unsuitable with the decrease in altitude, such as when you suddenly see power lines, consider a secondary field from the top as you descend. “ Follow the next part “ #Airport #turbulence #checklist #check_list #control #emergancy #safety #navigation #fly #thunderstorm #safetyfirst #training #pilot #pilots #workload #crash #pilottraining #descend #altitude #chose #power #field #landing #flighttraining #aviation #airlinepilot #homan_ardakanian #flight_instructor #captain #fatigue #runway #aerodrom #aviationnews #aviationjobs #aviationsafety #dangers #rule #Elnaz_Chelongar #Echo_Charlie89 #الناز_چلونگر
