⛩ International Sushi Day celebrates this potentially delicious meal and seeks to raise awareness about the truths and fictions surrounding it. ⠀ 🧧Tracing sushi’s origins leads us on an interesting journey, taking us back to SE Asia and a method of storing and preserving fish for later consumption. Known as Narezushi, fish was stored by being wrapped in salted and fermented rice where it would remain good for months at a time thanks to the fermentation of the rice. Originally the rice was thrown away when it was ready to eat, and only the fish was consumed. ⠀ 💟 The next stage in the development of sushi would be far more familiar to the modern palate, known as namanare it was made from partly raw fish that was wrapped in fish and consumed before the flavor changed. Sushi had changed from a way to preserve fish to a new form of cuisine. But this wasn’t the last stage in the foods evolution. ⠀ 📍It was in the Edo Period, between 1600 and 1800AD in Japan, that the traditional form of sushi we know today came to exist. At this point it was unique to Japanese culture and consisted of fish and vegetables wrapped in rice, the rice was mixed with vinegar. This form of sushi had regional variations, but the basic idea is still one of the most popular forms of sushi today. ⠀ ⛩ Head to your local specialist sushi restaurant and enjoy the delicacies lovingly prepared by a professional sushi chef. When we tell you that some chefs live and breathe sushi – we mean it. It is more than a simple foodstuff to them. Becoming what is known as an itamea of sushi in Japan requires many years of intense training and apprenticeship. After around five years of working with a master itamae, an apprentice sushi chef is given their first important task: preparing the sushi rice. The entire process can take as long as twenty years, so you are pretty much guaranteed excellent food if you go to a sushi bar. How many other professions train for that long? ⠀ ❣ Why should you celebrate International Sushi Day? Because of GREAT 💋Taste 💡Healthiness 📍Coolness ⠀ #sushi #food #Japan #sushiday

As Sushi Continues To spread Throughout The West 🍣 #Sushi has become a popular dish worldwide, particularly in Western countries. We thought we'd point out a few basic reasons why people enjoy it and what makes it interesting. Unique Flavors Sushi combines simple ingredients: vinegared rice, fresh fish, and seaweed. These elements create a balanced taste that is both subtle and flavorful. Western diners appreciate the fresh and clean taste, which deviates from many Western dishes that use heavy seasonings. Visual Appeal The way sushi is presented is a big part of its appeal. Sushi chefs, known as itamae, arrange each piece carefully, creating a visually appealing plate. This attention to detail makes eating sushi feel special and sophisticated (going one step further, to choosing"omakase," which effectively means "chef's choice" is truly an amazing experience as the itamae is the ultimate host of an incredible culinary experience). Variety and Customization Sushi offers a wide variety of options, from traditional nigiri and sashimi to rolls with various fillings and toppings. This variety allows diners to try different combinations and find their favorites. Many sushi restaurants also offer customization, so you can create a roll that suits your tastes. Health Benefits Sushi is often considered a healthy option. It typically includes fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for heart health. The use of fresh vegetables and minimal use of oils and fats also make it a lighter option compared to many Western meals. Just be careful and be aware of the sustainability of your choices. Cultural Experience Eating sushi provides a glimpse into Japanese culture. The traditions and etiquette surrounding sushi, such as how to use chopsticks or the correct way to eat nigiri, add to the dining experience. For many Westerners, this cultural aspect makes eating sushi more interesting and enjoyable. Social Experience Sushi is often enjoyed in social settings. Whether at a sushi bar or a restaurant with friends, the shared experience of trying different types of sushi can be fun and engaging. The small, shareable portions make it easy to sample a variety of flavors. Sushi's unique flavors, visual appeal, variety, health benefits, cultural significance, and social aspects contribute to its popularity among Westerners. These factors make sushi not just a meal, but an experience. 召し上がれ (Meshiagari!)

4.6/5.0 Star 641 reviews Google Reviews Rachel S Wanted to try a new place and found this one. Didn't realize it had such a great menu and sushi. Very fast however the speed did not take away from the quality of the food. They gave us complimentary crab Rangoon which were honestly the best I've ever had. We ordered chicken lo mein, lily roll, smoked salmon roll, and two egg rolls. The egg rolls were okay I probably won't get again. However the lo mein was phenomenal, you could tell it was cooked in a wok. The sushi was very good. Definitely am excited to come back and try other things. Mitchell M This is our go-to place for a great sushi roll in Plover. My favorite thing there is the shrimp Thai curry, if you like curry you gotta try it. The kimchi soup, beef lo mein, and spring rolls are also great. MWT The server was very friendly and low key hilarious. The food was also really good although I do not recommend pad Thai at the spiciest level because only a lunatic would do that to themselves. For good meal with good service here is the place especially if you like Thai/Cambodian food Ryan P Excellent restaurant with good options and affordable lunch. Highly recommend crab rangoon - the best is the area for sure! Also, good other options for chicken and steak. The customer service was okay, just order drinks and food together next time, it's easier for the staff and dont have wait for them to come back.
