LEADERS Leader-Managers and workers must effectively manage people, personnel, law suit, and business reputation RISK 24/7 realizing that everthing on a modern airplanes may be recorded. Nonetheless, this airline critical incident happened because of incompetent LEADERSHIP where a preliminary investigation was never attempted! Know that I served 30 years as a USAF Security Policem and I never saw or hear about anything like this simply because discipline and accountability are REAL in the USAF! However, training cannot alter the ‘heart and mind’, which is something people must remember and understand. Nevertheless, now the non-mentioned airline will be sued for millions, which could include the Feds and the local police department. Again, organizations must take POLICY training seriously thereby insuring every employee receives ancillary training at least quarterly via online education platforms. However, I would have never touched the ice delivered to my children by this man! PS: I personally have always been treated with dignity and respect on airlines. Maybe even nicer than others, and I normally sit in COACH. Thus, it appeared this was a planned activity! NOTE: Someome must always record these real world scenarios. **Maybe that guy was not a Broncos fan!

Why would EASA or other regulatory agencies and aircraft manufacturers ever consider single pilot operations? It is surely not in the name of safety. To keep aviation as the safest mode of transport in the world, requires TWO highly trained and rested pilots.
“I want to be crystal clear: reduced-crew and single-pilot operations aren’t some far-off fantasy. This isn’t rhetoric for the Air Safety Forum I’m making up. This is happening now.” Watch for our President Capt. Jason Ambrosi's stirring #SafetyStartsWith2 #ALPAASF opening.👇

This is important. We need more well trained pilots on flight decks and I believe one of the ways to meet the demands for more pilots is reduce the cost of flight training. Major Airlines need to create programmes that hire persons, invest in their pilot training and bond them to work for the airline for a specific number of years. #pilots #airlines #training #flightschool

A previous post about Murphy’s law and this one about O’Tooles is something I like to talk about. Murphy was a testpilot for the American Airforce and wanted to anticipate on everything that he could possibly think of that could go wrong. O’Tooles said that on top of everything that you can think of, everything that you CAN’T think of, will also go wrong. This is why I inspire people to be comfortably uncomfortable in these anticipations and situations where anything can go wrong, and to be prepared for when you’re not prepared, and to give it your all regardless. More on this later this week! #motivationmonday #otooleslaw #murphyslaw #comfortablyuncomfortable

Good training goes a long way.
It’s a special day at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport for one of their beloved TSA agents. 🐕 It’s the first time TSA at Mitchell has retired a K-9 agent and the ceremony was a ball!

I understand from a reliable sourrce that China would like to recriut Pilots and Ground Support crews from the West that have expertise in modern Fighter operations! These are required to train Chinese pilots in these skills! It is not known if these newly to be trained pilots, are required to subdue Taiwan, or this has a more global purpose🥸

The A350 is the first commercial aircraft that uses extensively carbon fiber reinforced composites. These materials tend to burn much more easily that the traditional Aluminum alloys used for aircraft construction. I wonder if someone will evaluate what would have happened if the aircraft had an Aluminum fuselage?
Japanese workers began clearing the burnt wreckage of a JAL A350-900 passenger jet (JA13XJ) and the Coast Guard DHC-8 Dash 8 aircraft (JA722A) on Friday, January 5, three days after the collision with a coast guard plane at Tokyo's Haneda Airport. Everyone onboard the airliner escaped before it was engulfed in flames. Five of the six crew on Coast Guard plane were killed. #accident

Correct but bit late for damage control. We've all seen the images and I guarantee Delta has lost and will continue to lose passengers. My company handles PR and Reputation Management for numerous global carriers where this type of practice would never be tolerated. Crisis Management is essential in any PR strategy, but the fact that political allegiances were allowed for cabin staff is simply unacceptable. We'll see the fallout in their Financials particularly on sought after longhaul routes in business and first class. #Reputationmanagement #delta #CrisisManagement
🚨 Update: Delta Air Lines has updated its policy, starting at July 15th only American flag pins will be allowed on the clothing of flight attendants.

In the tactical world we work on equipment placement, draw and engagement speed with accuracy. Quite often our situational awareness prior to an event isn’t discussed at as great of detail. One lesson I always try to stress is that persistent situational awareness is more important than the fastest reactionary draw.
Want to stay safe? Put down your phone! In our Tomahawk Corporate training seminars, we share the OODA Loop framework. https://lnkd.in/esDtS55S It was developed to help Air Force fighter pilots outmaneuver adversaries and can empower you to stay prepared and safe in your everyday life. What is the OODA Loop? 1️⃣ Observe your environment using all your senses. 2️⃣ Orient yourself by analyzing and contextualizing this new information. 3️⃣ Decide on your options. 4️⃣ Act, if necessary. And to maximize your situational awareness and safety, put down your phone when you’re in public situations like the sidewalk or the subway. Next time you’re out and about, practice the OODA Loop – it could save your life.

Years ago I recall while serving on warships, every crew member during operations had a sports whistle with a cord around his/her neck. To use it if they saw something wrong, potentially dangerous or not quite right, according to procedures and based on their experience. And the whistles could be heard from time to time, forcing needed pauses and checks. No incentives were given for using the whistles, neither were reprimands permitted. Interestingly, warships are arguably among the most challenging and complex workplaces in the world, and also among the safest, by deliberate design and hard work. So most of us will easily identify with the safety risks and dangers of not speaking up, as in the article, and recall the Challenger Space Shuttle tragedy. The problem is even harder to deal with in organisations undergoing transformation. Most leaders demand and default to compliance, and seek to control conversations. A few weeks ago I was in a client meeting with a few senior executives, and only one, the most senior, spoke for the entire 75 min session. The others chose to stay quiet. There is plenty to think about, as we support our organisations to successfully transform!
