The Transformative Power of Validation When you recognize and validate someone’s worth, it motivates them to give their best. The need for validation is deeply rooted in human nature, and in the workplace, it can be a key driver of high performance. However, when employees don’t feel valued as part of a team, they may lose interest, become less productive, or even leave the company. For this reason, managers should focus on validating their employees. The first step is to shift from criticizing mistakes to acknowledging what employees do well. Instead of highlighting negatives, emphasize their strengths. The next step is to recognize their contributions. When an employee exceeds expectations, show appreciation. Sometimes a simple thank you is enough, but to reinforce positive behavior, consider adding a reward. Lastly, involving employees in important decisions is another powerful way to validate them. Whenever possible, managers should leverage their team’s skills and expertise to shape decisions that impact the organization. Letting employees know their opinions matter and can lead to real changes is one of the most effective ways to validate them. #ppinsights #mondaymantra #validation #leadership #leadershipskills

Sir in my opinion most of the organisations still struggling to implement two important things which are very much essential for cultural transformation. First is letting team knows that their opinions and perspectives does matter and are important. Second giving them opportunities to asks questions if they are not getting your point or opinion. Then rewarding and recognising their valued contributions and perfect opinions/ perspectives will make it sustained.

Absolutely spot on! Recognizing and validating someone’s contributions not only boosts morale but also encourages a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.

I agree! Validation improves employee morale and performance. Recognizing strengths creates a positive environment, and involving employees in decision-making shows that their input is valued, leading to positive changes.

This topic is significantly important for managers and it seems they miss out on this majorly. This leads to insufficient engagement and retention efforts which they're responsible for. Time to strengthen 1st and 2nd line managers with refreshers to shift their mindset to improve the quality of engagement in line with Q12 , pradyumna.

Validation is an important aspect, but sometimes the Gen Z and Gen A take forced validation as micro managing. Hence as leaders we need to validate as per situation and on individual basis and not as a routine with everyone. Validation should preferably to one on one. Recognition can be more often and could be done in public.
