Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor.studio: 2024: The Year We Amplified Adult Learners' Voices This year taught me something profound: adult education isn't just about teaching – it's about dismantling barriers and creating pathways for voices that have been historically silenced. When I asked on LinkedIn, "What's the biggest misconception of adult education in the U.S.?", the responses were a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Our community isn't just learning – we're transforming lives. Three moments that captured our collective impact: • Celebrating Student Ambassadors: We welcomed 22 new COABE Student Ambassadors from Massachusetts, representing over 10 different countries. Each learner bringing a unique story, each voice a testament to resilience. "Massachusetts welcomed 22 new Coalition on Adult Basic Education Student Ambassadors! Participants represented more than 10 different countries and different learning journeys." https://lnkd.in/gKQrMNpu • Advocacy Fellowship Breakthrough: Reflecting on my journey, I shared a pivotal message: "Whatever internal dialogue is telling you that you don't have what it takes or aren't qualified, mute that dialogue and know that you CAN." https://lnkd.in/gc9VYV2p • National Advocacy in Action: Participating in TESOL International Association's Advocacy Day in Washington, DC, we proved that adult learners' stories can shape national policy. Professionally, 2024 was a year of intentional growth: • Transitioned to Initiatives Administrator at COABE • Led Student Ambassador training across multiple states • Represented adult education at national advocacy events Looking ahead to 2025, our mission remains clear: continue amplifying adult learners' voices and create meaningful pathways to education and opportunity.
