The pandemic highlighted the need for efficient vaccination systems that can deliver vaccines to all population groups. This study examines costs for implementing adult vaccination programs in 40 countries over a 5-year period (2023-2027). It assesses expenses, fiscal impact, and cost drivers to facilitate discussions on reshaping adult and COVID-19 immunization policies in Asia and the Pacific. National Immunization Day 16th March 2024 Today the 16th of March is National Immunization Day or National Vaccination Day. A nationwide event, it was declared to raise awareness to the importance of vaccination and encourage healthcare workers to conduct vaccination drive among communities. Vaccination is the primary safeguard against infectious illnesses within populations and under India’s Universal Immunization Programme conceived in 1978, almost 2.67 crore newborns and 2.9 crore pregnant women are targeted for immunization annually. This makes India’s UIP,  the most extensive vaccination drive in the world This year 2024, the theme of National Vaccination Day is “Vaccines Work for All” emphasizing how vaccination is important to fight disease irrespective of age and gender. #vaccination #indiahealthcare #immunization #nationalimmunizationday2024

https://lnkd.in/deVEUGY6 Worldwide, 19 countries yet have to introduce rubella vaccine. This, represents approximately 25 million infants, most of whom live in settings classified by the World Bank as conflict-affected and low-income. To fill this equity gap, these countries should receive support for introducing rubella vaccine. After extensive disruptions to routine immunization programmes during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential to ensure that all children are up to date with rubella vaccination, especially those who missed vaccination during the pandemic. Additional strategies to immunize adoles- cents and adults are required to protect against rubella infection throughout life, to ensure that adults of child- bearing age are protected from the risk of an in infant with CRS.
