What are the challenges for hiring healthcare staff in Hospitals? 1. We receive multiple resumes but the post for which advertisement is placed, very few candidate match the employer requirement 2. Current trend of changing jobs frequently is leading to high salaries of employees but skill set is not developing compare to pay. Over period of time this staff is becoming job less as no opportunities are available which will match their skill & pay 3. Resistance of healthcare staff to do night duties, big challenge, who will serve our patients in odd hours is becoming problem day by day 4. There is increased percentage of non compliance by staff towards commitment given 5. Decreased tendency of doctors, nurses & other healthcare staff to do hard work, efficient work, proper medical documentation as compared to previous generation 6. Every passing candidate would like to do something of his own, trend of entrepreneurship is increasing. It is good trend but affecting existing hospitals as commitment & longevity of staff is decreasing #humanresource #hospitals#challenges#integrity#commitment#doctors # nurses #healthcarestaff
With due respect , I don’t agree with any of the points mentioned by you . Nowadays staffs are very much trained . Only companies don’t want to pay for the up gradation of skills if their staffs People are very efficient , hard working and productive Healtcare system has improved and staffs are more aware of their duties Posts are there but COMPANIES DONT WANT GOOD CANDIDTES AS THEY WANT SOMEONE WHO CAN DO HARD WORK BUT ASK LESS SALARY . People nowadays have no problem in work but they are more aware of work life balance In short , posts and jobs are only for those who bid for the less salary ( no one ask for the skills and experience in any interview . The first question alwsybis Salary expectation )
I strongly disagree with all the points. I believe the idea of the post is to intimidate the healthcare workers. Healthcare workers are one of the hardest working and highly skilled people yet poorly paid. And its not just the salary, the employees are expected not to have any personal life , work life balance or even given the basic employee facilities when working in long hour shifts. Also just to add healthcare workers are one of the highly educated individuals be it any department they are working in.
Not fully agree. I think main issue is the changeing behaviour of bosses . 1. Now a days they more self oriented and they are busy in their own benifits and comfort than organisation and their juniors. 2. They are more insecure and hiring their juniors who are known to them . 3. Hr role is almost finished in healthcare sector. They are doing only paper work and collecting CVs as seniors are not allowing them to do their work properly. 4. Previous relationship is more important than knowledge for getting selected. 5. Salary is also one of the reason for not getting good candidates , if organisation need good employee then they have to pay more . There are many other reasons also .
With due respect my observations and suggestions are given below :- The quality of education is very poor! Reasons - Students and the institutions. Students don't understand the value and few institutions are just completing the course without any focus. When we recruit, they are deployed without proper training. When it comes to employment, these freshers are unable to fit into the system. So, the employer needs to frame a planner before employed Thirdly, the quality s improved, if the staff gets enough opportunity and continuous training. Quality of life plays a major role on shifting of job frequently. Treat the employees with respect and pay, there is no worry for any employer
Well said! Current challenges are overwhelming for many hospitals. To ensure quality, safe care for our patients, these challenges must be addressed proactively. Some HROs employ the following strategies to manage these challenges: 1. Mismatch Between Resumes and Requirements: Use platforms that cater specifically to healthcare professionals. Ensure that job descriptions are detailed and accurately reflect the requirements. Implement pre-screening assessments. 2. High Salaries and Lack of Skill Development: Invest in ongoing training programs to enhance staff skills. Create clear career paths and opportunities for advancement. Tie compensation to performance and achievements. 3. Resistance to Night Duties: Offer competitive shift differentials to compensate for working night shifts. Explore flexible scheduling options. 4. Increased Non-Compliance: Develop and communicate clear policies and procedures regarding employee conduct and expectations. Implement a robust performance management system to address non-compliance issues promptly. 5. Decreased Work Ethic and Documentation: Foster a culture that values hard work, efficiency, and adherence to standards. Utilize technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
I am not more different in my opinion than that of others.. Everything is workable when there is #Fair & #Respect maintained. Being, it would be in hiring, assigning duties, imparting the right knowledge, developing and maintaining the culture of belonging, providing the right and fair remuneration, acknowledging and appreciating the talents fairly, assisting people who are not able to perform as expected. In short, the right and Good #HR team is required to take care of its employees in the most appropriate way. This is what I can think about considering the limited experience acquired over my career until today.
In some places they won't make us stay sir .Based on salary they throw away sir and staff politics too .
Dear Dr.Venkat, firstly I will strongly recommend to focus on employee satisfaction, try to work on the gaps and retain your present employees. Your rest challenges automatically streamlined.
i Don’t agree with most of your points. Fully agree with Dr Naveen Aggarwal analysis .

2moI have worked as an ICU registrar for 3years. Here are my issues as to why I left hospital despite loving to serve patients. 1) No increment/appraisal for staff (not even 1%) for 3 years. I have worked for 3-4 hospitals and none of them provide this. 2) Night hours are okay but when doctors/nurses extend their shift despite leaving their family alone there is no compensation 3) No night shift allowance (it's considered part of job) 5) Lacking basic infrastructure facilities like a resting place even after 16hours of duty 6) No bonus, spot appraisal or recognition 7) No paid maternity leave 8) No paid sick leaves So people in management need to stop complaining about quality of staff when they don't consider their staff a human in the first place. The new generation is smart enough to not tolerate abuse in the name of employment. Pay well and get quality simple!!!!
