IN A WORLD OF COMPLEXITY, SIMPLICITY REIGNS SUPREME It is in the simplest of moments that we often find our greatest joys and deepest fulfillment. 📝 Simple pleasures serve as the final sanctuary for those entangled in complexity, as Oscar Wilde eloquently expressed in the words, "I adore simple pleasures. They are the last refuge of the complex." ✍🏻 I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best," he said. 📚 ⚕️In the demanding field of healthcare, finding moments of joy is essential for clinicians to maintain balance and fulfillment. 👩⚕️ Just as in academia, where research requires intense focus, integrating moments of joy is crucial for mental clarity and resilience. Whether it's a quiet moment with a patient or a brief escape into nature, these experiences rejuvenate clinicians and improve patient care outcomes. 💉 Embracing simple pleasures in public health promotes individual and community well-being. Activities like social connections, nature engagement, and mindfulness enhance mental clarity and resilience, contributing to healthier populations and sustainable healthcare systems. #medicine #medicalpractice #theoracticeofmedicine #academia #publichealth #oscarwilde #simplicity #complexity

In our modern culture of convenience, everything is available at the push of a button. While this can save time, it also keeps us from engaging in physical movement such as going out to the market or meeting someone for a walk. We tend to stay home and have things brought to us rather than moving to do things. When we become stagnant physically, emotionally, or in our relationships, we can become unhealthy. Below are three general recommendations for incorporating more movement and physical activity into your everyday life: 1) Aim for 10,000 steps and/or 30 minutes of movement every day. 2) Move at least once every hour: stand up, stretch, and take a few deep breaths. 3) Aim for exercising vigorously three times per week. Learn more about the importance of movement in our soon-to-launch online Integrative Academy. 3D Healthcare 💙 Effective and Sustainable Workflow Improvement in Care Delivery ♦ C-suites: Eliminate the Need for More Cost Cutting ♦ 3D Train the Trainer Certification Program ♦ A Loving Organization Culture Change
Last week I was in an amazing discussion with a number of beautiful kindred spirits about the book written by my former teacher, don Miguel Ruiz, his iconic "The Four Agreements". The discussion hit on some key points that are relevant for the mess healthcare finds itself in. Probably the areas that most resonated for healthcare are these: The mind is systematic. No two minds that are the same. That means the systems of the mind--thoughts, beliefs and memories--create a different reality for each human. The physical universe is made of systems and subsystems, which produce 100% of the outcomes produced in nature. How we experience these outcomes is different for every mind. When the human mind gets involved in creating human-made systems such as healthcare, the outcomes percentage is about 94% the function of the systems, not the people leading or working in the systems. The physical realities we create for ourselves are systematic, formal or not. Both physical and mental systems are exquisitely entangled. You can't fix one without fixing the other. All problems in physical systems are based in stress induced dysfunction defined by Nobel Prize-winning systems science. All problems in the mind are based in stress/fear-based emotional energy that gives value to thoughts, beliefs and memories. The solution to both physical systems problems and mental ones is systemic love using a "pull" strategy that gently pulls both sets of systems--physical and mental--from stress/fear to love/support. This is the mission of #ALovingOrganization with #LovingWorkflows and #ALovingOrganizationConsortium. We are part of The Great Gathering we have been waiting for in healthcare who will catalyze systemic love into healthcare as a workable solution to its many problems. Loving, staff-led systems improvement, while growing and healing staff, is the answer. This is doable within today's broken healthcare system, creating a win for all: staff, patients, families, communities and Admins who learn to lead and manage with love. #3DHealthcare

Publicly Traded Company | Cellular Activation Wellness | Achieve Natural, Professional Weight Loss with GLP-1 | Non-Pharmaceutical Solutions for Health | Harness the Power of Holistic Nutrition and Cellular Health
Reflecting on my journey, I've realized how crucial it is to take charge of our health. As a child, I was taught to rely solely on traditional medical interventions, but as I've grown older, I've come to appreciate the value of exploring alternative approaches and actively participating in my healthcare decisions. While conventional medicine certainly has its place and has helped resolve certain issues, I've found that adopting a more holistic mindset has empowered me to consider a wider range of options for maintaining my well-being. Rather than simply accepting prescriptions without question, I now take the time to research and evaluate different approaches, weighing the benefits of medication against the potential drawbacks and considering natural remedies and lifestyle changes as viable alternatives. Looking back, I recognize that my upbringing instilled in me a passive attitude toward my health, but I've since embraced a more proactive stance. By challenging ingrained beliefs and exploring new perspectives, I've discovered the importance of being informed and involved in my care. I encourage others to embark on a similar journey of self-discovery and empowerment when it comes to their health. Let's break free from outdated paradigms and embrace a more holistic approach to wellness. After all, when it comes to our health, thinking outside the box and exploring all available options can lead to truly transformative outcomes. If you need help taking a new direction my door is open. DM #MedicalEmpowerment #HolisticHealth #WellnessJourney #EmpowerYourHealth #HealthcareChoice #LifestyleMedicine #MindBodyConnection

True Health If there is one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that language matters! Having an understanding of how you or your patient defines something will help both you and them achieve their goal(s) much more successfully. ——————————————————————— Practitioner: So what is your goal or goals? Patient/Client: To be healthy. Practitioner: Wonderful. How do you define true health? Patient/Client: (awkward pause) Ughhh, I don’t know I’ve never really thought about it. You know, the usual stuff. ——————————————————————- This is a far too common interaction I’ve had with so many patients and clients over the years. No matter the setting I find myself in, generally, people are seeking a better status of health than where they currently are. However, rarely is it the case that any of them can articulate and define what true health is for themselves. For some, their definition may be short and simple, for others it may be highly analytical. The one truth is that everyone operates with a different definition. As healthcare professionals I believe it is our obligation to take the first step in asking our patients how they define it, so we can confidently walk along side them knowing we are headed in the right direction in their health/rehabilitative journey. So, I’m curious, specifically to my O&P community, how do you define true health for yourself? I’ll go first: “A Balanced Mind, Body, And Spirit Achieved By Simple And Natural Means That Maximize One’s Human Potential For Fulfillment In Life” #prosthetics #orthotics #rehabilitation #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #strengthandconditioning
