This will guide everything from wardrobe choices to location selection. Team Assembly: Gather a team including a photographer, stylist, makeup artist, hair stylist, and models. Ensure they understand and align with your vision. Location Scouting: Choose locations that complement your concept. Consider indoor and outdoor settings, and obtain any necessary permits. Wardrobe Selection: Curate outfits that reflect your brand or personal style. Ensure they're clean, pressed, and fit the models well. Hair and Makeup: Work with the hair and makeup team to create looks that enhance the overall aesthetic. Set Design: If applicable, design sets or backgrounds that enhance the visual impact of the shoot. Equipment Setup: Coordinate with the photographer to ensure all necessary equipment is ready and functioning properly. Shooting Schedule: Plan out the shoot day, including specific shot lists and timings to maximize efficiency. Directing the Shoot: As the creative director, provide guidance to the team throughout the shoot to ensure the desired outcome is achieved. Post-Production: Review and select the best images from the shoot. Collaborate with a retoucher to refine the images and bring out their full potential. Marketing and Promotion: Once the lookbook is ready, leverage social media, your website, and other channels to promote your collection and drive sales. Remember to stay organized, communicate effectively with your team, and be open to creative input throughout the process.

Tips when you have a photoshoot. Absolutely! For a photoshoot, choosing the right colors and outfits can make a big difference. Here are some tips: Colors: 1. Solid Colors: They generally work best on camera. They help keep the focus on you rather than the clothing. 2. Neutral Tones: Shades like black, white, gray, and beige are versatile and timeless. They tend to look sophisticated and keep the focus on you. 3. Earthy Colors: Colors like olive green, rust, mustard, and navy can look warm and flattering. 4. Avoid Bright Neon Colors: They can be harsh on the eyes and create unwanted reflections. 5. Pastels: Soft colors like blush pink, baby blue, and lavender can create a gentle, flattering look. Outfit Options: 1. Classic and Timeless: A well-fitted blazer or jacket over a simple top can look polished. Pair with trousers or a skirt for a professional touch. 2. Casual but Stylish: A fitted sweater or a button-down shirt with jeans can look relaxed but put together. 3. Dressy Look: A tailored dress or a chic jumpsuit can be a great option, especially for formal or fashion-focused shoots. 4. What should you wear when having professional photos taken for work? I channelled my inner Bingo Caller/Game Show Host and went fir a fully gold suit! 🤩 Check it out in this behind the scenes video from the recent shoot for my new website. 👀 I totally admit that I really struggled with what to wear! 🤯 The stakes felt really high and I panicked. It’s just the same as when you have an important event/presentation/meeting at work. You want to look the part and feel confident. You want to be perceived in the right way, be approachable but professional. Plus attract the right clients! The fact I dress people for a living kind of made it worse. 😬 In the end I went with my own advice. Sometimes you have to remind yourself to practice what you preach. The best way to dress for a brand shoot or professional photos is YOUR way but to also consider how you want to be perceived. Think of 3 words that epitomise how you like to dress combined with how you want to be perceived. For this shoot, my 3 words were relaxed, feminine and polished. I still felt like me and that’s so important. I took 8 outfits in total so I would get lots of different shots and more bang for my buck. I stuck to colours I’d wear day to day but actually these are in my branding too. I wavered about the gold suit but I knew I loved it and this ended up being my favourite outfit of the whole day. ✨(Sezane in case you’re interested) The photographer is Sam Grady and a really old friend of mine from back in Essex. We used to go raving back in the 90’s 😂🤫💃 - I would really recommend him, his aesthetic is very laid back and stylish. Whether it's for your LinkedIn profile, professional website, or portfolio, here are some invaluable tips to help you make the most out of your session: OUTFIT SELECTION: Choose clothing that reflects your personal brand and professional style. Solid colors and simple patterns work best, avoiding distracting logos or busy patterns that may detract from your face. COLOR COORDINATION: Choose colors that are connected to your brand, and don't be afraid of bold colors - they do catch attention much quicker. Your photographer will be able further help you with a background choice for a cohesive look. ACCESSORIZE WISELY: Accessories can add personality to your headshot, but keep them subtle. Opt for classic pieces that enhance your overall look without overpowering it. PRACTICE POSING: Spend some time practicing different poses in front of a mirror to find what works best for you. Relax your shoulders, keep your chin slightly lifted, and engage with the camera to convey confidence. Or trust your photographer - if you choose a pro, your photographer will pose you from head to toe, so you don't have to remember this tip. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER: Don't hesitate to communicate with your photographer about your preferences, concerns, and any specific goals you have for your headshots. They're there to help you look your best! STAY HYDRATED AND WELL-RESTED: Ensure you get plenty of rest the night before your session and stay hydrated. This helps maintain a fresh and vibrant appearance during your shoot. ARRIVE EARLY AND PREPARED: Arriving early allows you to settle in and relax before the session begins and it's best avoiding additional stress when running late. Bring any necessary touch-up items such as makeup, hair products, or grooming tools to ensure you look polished throughout the shoot. Wondering what NOT to wear for your #seniorphoto session? Eight things come to mind. Hint: 🩲 1. The color red. This no-no depends on the location of your senior photoshoot. If you plan to have a lot of greenery in the background of your photos, wearing too much red will quickly turn your senior session into a Christmas shoot.  2. A sports uniform without the gear. If you’re going to make sports the highlight of your senior photos, don’t forget to bring all your gear with you. A sports uniform looks great, but if you really want to tell a story about your senior year, bring all essential gear along with you. 3. A brand-new outfit. It’s perfectly fine to purchase a new outfit for your senior photoshoot, but don’t try that outfit on for the first time on the day. You never know when something might fit you poorly or if you’ll realize you don’t feel comfortable walking around in a particular clothing item. 4. Spaghetti straps. There is nothing wrong with spaghetti straps, but they can make your shoulders look much wider than they really are. If you do want to show some shoulder, rather go with a strapless dress or top. 5. Glasses with lenses. If you plan to wear glasses for your senior photos, try and remove the lenses for your shoot. This way, you can avoid any unnecessary glare and you get to show off your beautiful eyes. If this is not an option, opt for progressive lenses. 6. Graphic tees. T-shirts that have trendy graphics can look good in photos, but will they still be relevant in a few years. Ideally, you want your senior photos to be timeless so choose any graphic tees carefully. 7. Uncomfortable outfits. Everyone has one outfit that they love but that makes them feel slightly uncomfortable. This is not the right outfit to wear for your senior photo session. If you can’t bend and move comfortably, this will show in your images. 8. The wrong underwear. Even the wrong underwear can make a difference to your senior photos. Make sure the color of your underwear doesn’t show through your clothing and that straps aren’t visible. Likewise, if you'd like YOU, or your (small!) product, to be showcased in such a scenery, contact me. By definition, a fashion editorial is "a storytelling medium that conveys the narrative behind a clothing collection, including its inspirations & references" so that a brand has got another narrative tool to effectively communicate its creative journey to the public. When we sell clothes and jewellery, we need to remember that our clients often want to buy dreams and transformations. We also need to be acutely aware of the fact that in order to attract our ideal clients, we need to project similar vibes consistently and that is not limited just to clothing or jewellery. Abundance attracts abundance while scarcity is a magnet for... of course.... scarcity. If my client owns a luxurious clothing brand and wishes to showcase a few items (on her or on an on-set extra) in our brand photoshoot, I will not present their clothes in front of a graffitied wall even if I need a splash of colour in the background. Running a 'budget location' brand photoshoot for such a client would only confuse their customers and confused customers do not buy. The choice of location could potentially harm my client's market positioning (their customers' perception of their brand). Therefore, we always need to choose our brand photoshoot locations wisely. My client's customers will need to be strongly convinced that the clothes shown in the images are tailored to their needs; that way it feels more targeted and exclusive. Our job (mine and my client's) is to craft unique proposition based on THE RESULTS THEIR CUSTOMERS WANT TO ACHIEVE. Today, a few of my photos of Lissa taken in #Barbados.
