AIRINDIA LIMITED How do you arbitrarily change a seat from a well in time chosen aisle seat to a middle seat? The seat I had chosen on AI 806 was 14C - chosen as a free seat. I even printed out a web check in boarding pass at the kiosk at Terminal 2 Mumbai. At the gate, an agent tells me that the seat is changed to 14B because another passenger paid for 14C. A very rude Gate Supervisor Mr Sarfaraz tells me if a passenger pays, obviously they will sell it. He actually deboarded me from the flight!! He tells me I should have approached the counter. Is this #DigitalIndia? Questions 1. Was this seat not booked in my name at all? 2. Is this what the Tata group Ratan Tata planning to do to make the company profitable? 3. Is rudeness and customer apathy the new "Tata Air India" culture? W Edwards Deming has said " All mistakes belong to the system and the system belongs to management". He should be jailed and an example should be made out of him. 😠👿 Why in News 📰 :- An Indigo passenger ran across the aisle to slap the pilot after the flight was delayed for a few hours. Everything happened on camera and the video became viral on social media. He was offboarded and handed over to the respective authorities for further investigation. 🌎 Critical Analysis:- As per the current law, he would be facing around 30 days of travel ban which the netizens demanded to be a lifelong ban. ✈ However, the situation is not as black and white as it seems. Indian Aviation industry is always criticized for poor service and non delivery of the expected value in exchange of price charged. 🌎 There are several issues lurking the industry which degrades the entire flying experience of the passengers. 🌎 🛫 No transparency in the price hike. 🛫Extra charges for preferrable/ better seat allocation which is a recent phenomena. 🛫No clear communication about the change of flight schedules. 🛫Dishonesty throughout the journey, they often lie about the delays or give some age-old excuse of fog even during summers, purposefully slow down the plane to elongate the journey time ( Govt. has fixed a certain price range for flights under 1 hour ) , make excuses to raise the ticket price, some instances have been recorded in which airlines cheat in weighing the luggage more to extract additional weight charges etc. 🛫Lack of training in airline staff; Unprofessional behavior with the passengers. 🛫Poor quality of aviation infrastructure in a lot of airlines. 🛫Undeveloped/ Mis-managed Airports. Now, talking about the other side of the coin, Indian passengers often lack basic manners to travel:- 😡A rising concern is this new fascination of making reels and recording yourself throughout the journey, which is inconvenient to the fellow passengers. 😡Poor hygienic sense in flights and at airports. 😡Carrying too much luggage in the flight along with them, the airlines allow only 1 luggage per passenger but I've seen a lot of them carrying 2-3 bags which overcrowds the luggage compartment and then people sit with huge bags in their laps, which further problems the passengers nearby. 😡Talking/ watching content without earphones, disturbs everyone around. and many more I want flying as a premium experience and it will be possible with everyone's efforts. Plight of AirIndia Flight: AI183 May 30th 2024 Actual Flight Times Flight Number: AI183: Date of Flight: May 30th 2025 Time of Takeoff: 3.15 PM IST Events May 30th: 2024 1. Flight Delayed: 6.15 PM Boarding Time 2. Flight Delayed: 8 PM Boarding Time 3. Passengers Boarded Flight at 8 PM. 4. No AC running at 45+ centigrade Temperation 5. For 2-3 hours passengers in the Flight without any AC. 6. 3-4 Passengers faints. 7. 11 PM Passengers unboarded. 8. Passengers taken to Hotel at 1 AM IST. So For 12 hours this ordeal happened. This didn't stop. May 31st 1. Flight Scheduled: 11 PM.: Flight Delayed again to 3.15 PM 2. Passengers left Hotel at 11 AM reached airport at 12 PM. 3. Passengers in boarding area from 2 PM 4. Flight Delayed Again: New time to takeoff: 6 PM 5. Passengers onboard the flight at 5.30 PM 6. Flight in the tarmac: 4.5 hours till 10.30 PM No food provided to passengers from 11 AM till 10.30 PM. (almost 12 hours) The condition in the plane was inhumane with so much of heat. No clear communication. No support system. Ask 1. Need action against AirIndia and the management.
