Today is World Mental Health Day - and the this years focus is on 'Mental health at work'. Did you know: ➡ 15% of UK workers are estimated to have an existing mental health condition ➡ the 5th most common reason for sickness absence in 2022 was mental health. The Mental Health Foundation has shared 10 evidence-based ways that can improve mental health: 🗣 Talk about your feelings 🤔 Be mindful of activity levels 🥗 Eat well 🚰 Drink sensibly  🤝 Manage your relationships ✋ Ask for help 🚶♂️ 🚶♀️ Take a break 🌟 Do something you're good at 🤟 Accept who you are 💕 Care for others Look after each other at work - and if possible - find someone to have a confidential chat if things get too much. What can you do to help battle the stigma around mental health 👇 We do all these things in addition to offering low-cost and free mental health care programs. Here’s a few things we suggest you can do to show support and spread the word that THERE IS NO US AND THEM. #WeAllStruggle. Talk openly about your mental health struggles, to normalize talking about it. Work on recognizing someone who is struggling and lend an ear. Be proactive. Seek out help before your struggles become catastrophic. Partner with us to help spread the word & Donate (once or on an ongoing basis) (as an individual or a company!) to support our Free and Low-cost Counselling Programs. #weallstruggle

Today is World Mental health day. The 2014 survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing in England found that 1 in 6 people aged 16+ had experienced symptoms of a common mental health problem, such as depression or anxiety, in the past week. Data for the 2023 survey will provide a more up-to-date picture. Whatever the prevalence, the toll that poor mental health takes on individuals and their families and friends is huge. WARNING - You may find the rest of this post triggering. I have lived alongside those with mental illness most of my adult life. It is hard to watch someone you love struggle to find any joy or comfort in living, to want to hurt themselves, to not be able to distinguish what is real from what is not, or to become so anxious they can no longer cope with their day-to-day lives. What I know is that being there for that person - holding their hand, being on the end of the phone, providing that unconditional love and support is really important, even if at the time the person can't communicate this. So if you see someone struggling or you think they may be - reach out. It could, quite literally, save their life. And it you know someone who is supporting someone with mental health problems, give them some love too!

On World Mental Health Day, let's all come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters.
