Edge Foundation's interim report reveals concerning findings about students' perceptions and experiences of T Levels. It highlights problems young people have experienced - from not feeling fully informed on further education opportunities at the application stage, to issues in the quality of education offered. Particularly worryingly, some students are apprehensive about the opportunities available to them after completion. It's no surprise to us that students’ favourite part of #TLevels is their industry placement. Our work with young people spotlights the significant impact and fulfilment young people experience during #workexperience placements: which is fundamental to providing skills, knowledge and motivation for future careers. Our ambition is to ensure all young people have equal access to opportunities. Further education must create, not close down, opportunities for young people. For T Levels to meet their aims, teachers and employers need to be confidently able to support students so they become knowledgeable, skilled and ready to launch into their chosen employment pathways. "Many recent college graduates may struggle with entering the workforce for the first time as it can be a huge contrast from what they are used to throughout their education journey. They are often unprepared for a less structured environment, workplace cultural dynamics, and the expectation of autonomous work," Huy Nguyen, Intelligent's chief education and career development advisor, said in a statement. "Although they may have some theoretical knowledge from college, they often lack the practical, real-world experience and soft skills required to succeed in the work environment," he added.

The results of 2021-22 graduate outcomes are in! 15 months after graduating all students who study at UK universities are asked to complete the graduate outcomes survey. It includes questions about the type of work or study they are doing, how much they are earning, whether they feel happy and fulfilled in their work or study and the impact their professional training year has had on graduate job offers. Results from a survey of nearly 7,000 faculty were released today by AAC&U, NACE, and the Society for Experiential Education. Results highlight the faculty's pivotal role in students’ career exploration, readiness, and search support. More than 90% of faculty say they engage in career conversations with students and are comfortable doing so within their disciplines. However, institutions can support faculty to go deeper in their efforts to connect learning outcomes with career skills. Researchers recommend increasing collaboration among faculty, advisors, and career center directors to foster more robust integration of high-impact practices focused on career readiness into curricula.
