Session 3 of 4 with the Ohio Department of Transportation today. What a great team. It has been an honor to spend time with them developing skills in navigating difficult conversations. Often we inherit poor performing teammates and think, “that’s just the way it is”. My question for all of us managing new teams or difficult legacy teammates is this; If your name was on the side of the truck, would this person work for you? If they wouldn’t work for your personal business, why do we accept thier performance in the roles we manage for someone else? While there are many factors to unpack here, the point is, we often overlook the option to hold people accountable for their performance and behavior. Ever have a great customer service experience? It happens because the organization trains well, and holds people accountable to expected behavior, every time. How are you pointedly, but compassionately, journeying with your teams to bring out their greatest potential? The result (for everyone on the team) can be greater peace of mind, better sleep, and a high performing team upon which good people like to work. I’d love to hear your thoughts. It’s a great day out here!

CEO & Co-Founder at bluquist - foundational software & services to empower human potential I Product Manager & Tech. Enthusiast
What makes a cohesive and great team? One of my colleagues asked me this during our half-yearly team event in Munich last week and I've considered the question for a few moments while responding. What came to my mind then were two things, one from Simon Sinek and one from Jocko Willink. Both evolve strongly around the aspect of trust. If you have a team generally you would want always two things: High Performance AND High Trust. As it turns out having those two are mutually influencing but with one distinction. Performance in to absence of trust turns into selfish behaviours and ultimately deteriorates any cohesive team structure and performance. Same goes with mutual support and being respected as a leader. The best leaders create compassion and trust amongst their team members because if people care for each other they go a long long way in supporting peers in all kinds of situations. I'm happy to be part of a team that shows both things continually. Trust and commitment to high performance. Iterating on shared team values and coming together (in a physical location) is from my perspective the best way to create a culture that is focused on those two things. And it also doesn't hurt to make fun a core aspect of events as well. 😎 We are walking this path now since more than 3 years and the 15 people working for bluquist right now (not all on the picture) have created a human potential development system that reaches more and more users and companies as every week goes by. Thanks to every bluquist member for turning our vision more and more into reality. bluquist #team #cohesive #high #performance #trust #human #potential

A chain with a single worn link is no good, no matter the length. That single worn link disrupts the entire strength and integrity of the chain.

Coach of CEOs & C-Suite Executives | Vistage Peer Advisory Group Chair | Entrepreneur | Dancing in the Chaos
I've advised many executives in my career and I've found that there are 5 things you need to build a high-trusting team. 1. Accountability 2. Transparency 3. Consistency 4. Empathy 5. Integrity ... and what happens when trust is lacking: ❌Avoiding accountability = "Blame culture" ❌Absence of empathy = "Disconnection" ❌Inconsistent behavior = "Uncertainty" ❌Lack of transparency = "Mistrust" ❌No integrity = "Dishonesty" This is how to start building trust: ✅Hold yourself and others accountable. ✅Show genuine care and understanding. ✅Be reliable and follow through on commitments. ✅Lead by example with honesty and strong ethics. ✅Share information openly, and keep your team informed. P.S. How do you build trust within your team?

Happy National Manufacturing Day! 🎉 One thing I’ve learned from the leaders in manufacturing I’ve worked with: the 'secret' to their success isn’t just technical expertise or innovation—it’s collaboration. The most successful teams don’t focus on being right, but on *getting it right*. It’s about coming together, sharing ideas, and finding the best path forward, no matter where the solution comes from. Today, let’s celebrate teamwork. Let’s celebrate selflessness. And a willingness to collaborate that makes the manufacturing industry thrive. Here’s to the people who know that getting it right is what truly drives success! (Quote is from the Brene Brown book 'Atlas of the Heart')

I’m so grateful to work at an organization where the culture is all this ⬇️ and more! 🙌 Company culture is the heartbeat of an organization — it shapes an organization’s identity and influences employee behavior. A positive culture fosters collaboration, boosts morale, and attracts top talent. It's the invisible force that drives innovation, resilience, and ultimately, the success of a company. How’s the culture where you work? #companyculture #leadership #sharedpurpose #positiveculture

Company culture is transforming rapidly. It already shows where multinational and International organisations are already heading towards and those who are not will miss the bus. So glad to see that Employee well-being and belonging as the new cornerstones of organisational culture. So is the need for Leadership commitment towards these to set the tone and lead by example. Times are changing and so do we need to transform in these changing times!! Excited to be part of this change and working towards this shift. This also means organisational culture will never be a given any more it will always be a work in progress.
