Our willpower is a muscle that can be trained like any other muscle in our body, and when focused upon a particular area of our lives, the benefits of this effort spreads to a host of other well being and lifestyle behaviours also! Various studies have showed that when we develop our willpower over a specific task of self improvement such as exercising regularly or saving money, they found that this acted as a catalyst for improvement in other wellness behaviours like smoking less and eating healthily. 🥶Cold Plunge🥶. Numerous health benefits exist, too extensive to enumerate here. Feel free to research them on #Google for more details. My purpose here is to provide a perspective. 🌟 Personally not a fan, lol. Those familiar with me understand my aversion to the cold. ❄️ Nevertheless, it would be negligent of me not to acknowledge its potential as a beneficial daily practice for many. 🌞 The concern arises when individuals adopt trends such as cold plunges without implementing other lifestyle changes for better health. 🚫 Each piece of advice I offer serves as a vital component of overall health and fitness. If incorporating a daily cold plunge has positively affected your physical and mental well-being, I applaud it! Updated 7/8/24: Total Body fat lost is 41 pounds. 14 pounds to go to goal!! 💪🏋️🥙🥗 🚶♂️ 9) Fitness Mentors. I was able to find many on social media and the internet and this is where I learned most of this information. There are a few who back up their programs with scientific research and some are PhD’s. I find these helpful because all will share best practices, and hacks that can be gamechangers. I didn’t buy anything from them but only followed them on the platforms. If you need help or accountability, they are there to help. Having written all of that I have lost 29.2 pounds of body fat, decreased my waist by 4 sizes, went from a XXL to XL shirt, and am in the 230’s. I still have roughly 25 pounds of body fat to go but I am trending well and should reach my goal by late summer or fall. I also want to share that I eat normal food that you can get at any supermarket. Somedays I know I’m going to overeat (most recently Mother’s Day) so I skipped breakfast that morning and walked some extra steps. No matter what anyone tries to tell or sell you there is no shortcut to healthy fat loss, and it will take time. I just didn’t wake up obese one day. It took me years of consistently overeating and living a sedentary life to reach 270 pounds. The key is consistently hitting these metrics every day. We know our numbers in our businesses, finances, and other relevant statistics that we proudly share. I challenge you to know your personal health and wellness numbers.
