We’ve fielded a lot of questions about starting podcasts lately. Enough questions we started to think the universe was telling us we should do a few podcasts about starting a podcast. Luckily, with over 200 episodes under our belt, we're getting this whole podcast thing figured out. We cataloged our misadventures and advice into two podcast focused episodes: 🎙️ Starting with Podcasting 101 Part 1: Getting Started Checklist A practical checklist to guide you through the essential 3 pre-recording decisions: your show's human resources, frequency, and brand details. 🎙️ Stay tuned for Podcasting 101 Part 2: Tech Talk (This publishes in a few weeks but if you need it now just holler at info@mayecreate.com and we’ll send you a secret link!) Helps good eggs to create podcasts aka social impact organisations, value-led companies, heroes and superstars
You’d be surprised at the number of folk who I chat to who would love a podcast - but don’t listen to them! Loads of people then say, ‘Vic, I’ve not got time to listen to podcasts!’ To be really honest, if you’ve not got time to listen to podcasts, you certainly won’t have time to make one. But the beauty of podcasts is that we can listen whilst we’re doing something that doesn’t involve much thinky brain power, cooking the tea, cleaning the house, driving to work… So why is listening to podcasts vital when you want to create your own? Can you imagine trying to write a book, without ever having read a book? Listening to podcasts will give you a feel for what works and what doesn't. You'll learn about different formats, styles, and content. It's also a great way to discover new ideas and perspectives. Plus, discover what’s already out there in the niche where you want to podcast. And who knows, you might even find some inspiration for your own podcast! So, grab your headphones, pick a few shows, and start listening! (image - my assistant producer Alan really getting into his new podcast obsession, 'Help I Scratched My Boss' on his daily commute)

Confession time: I’m a terrible friend. Why? Because I have this toxic habit. I recommend podcasts. And not just any podcasts. I suggest the long, deep-dive, 3-hour interviews that require dedication, focus, and – let’s be honest – a full afternoon! So, for all my friends (and colleagues, let’s be real) who’ve nodded along politely when I said, “You have to listen to this,” but then secretly never hit play… I’ve got you. Meet Clipnote.ai. It listens to the entire podcast/Youtube video for you, slices out the irrelevant chatter, and creates a concise summary. No more marathon listening sessions required. And the best part? I’ll still think you listened to the whole thing. 😉 www.clipnote.ai You’re welcome, and yes, I’m still going to recommend more podcasts. It’s who I am.

Podcast marketing for experts and professional services firms | Fractional Consultant | Podcast Host
Why do people listen to podcasts? More than 60% of U.S. adults have listened to a podcast—a number that continues to grow year-over-year. And it’s not only 'true crime' and other entertainment podcasts that are being consumed... "Business" is the 4th most consumed podcast category, after Society & Culture, Education, and Arts. In fact, LinkedIn conducted a survey of over 2,700 users that showed 44% of department heads, VPs, owners, and C-suites listen to podcasts. But why podcasts? Why that medium and format? Here's what I find interesting about this Marketing Charts visualization of Pew Research Center data: • A podcast should be entertaining. Even in professional services. You can still deliver value and expertise. Make it funny, share real examples, be sarcastic. • While entertainment was cited as a major reason, learning via podcasts is relatively more important to older generations. • There seems to be an inverse relationship between age and consuming podcasts to have something to listen to while doing other tasks. What do you think? Why do you listen to podcasts? #podcasting #research #marketing

PODCASTS - NOW YOU'RE TALKING All podcasts involve talking. Whatever the format, words will be released into the wild to do their work. In reports such as The Podcast Landscape 2024, (https://lnkd.in/eGYbS7hb) by Sounds Profitable we discover that people engage with podcasts in various places using a variety of platforms. Communication is multi-sensory and includes written, visual and subtle non-verbal body language. But for me, audio is a special case and spoken word is the best way to communicate. It engages the brain differently from the other forms. People like to listen. Do you like to talk? We do a lot of it all day every day but we may need to pay more attention to how we are doing it, or what could make it better. Podcasting can be your talking tool to grow confidence and fluidity in communicating. Put your words to work and let’s get talking. learn to podcast - https://lnkd.in/e5riUKKF starting September 16

Apple introduces transcripts for #ApplePodcasts, an innovative new feature that makes podcasts more accessible and easier to navigate. With transcripts, users can read the full text of an episode, search the episode for a specific word or phrase, and tap on the text to play the podcast from that point in the episode. As an episode plays, each word is highlighted, making it easy to follow along. https://lnkd.in/dvfzx64a

Your Virtual Upline Podcast : 422: My Thoughts On Beautycounter Shutting Down https://ift.tt/y5JM3ce Today’s show is a bit different… This episode is related to some news that very recently became public that Beautycounter, a respected and admired company in our space for many years, is shutting down. The reaction to this news that I’ve been made aware of has made me think of something that I absolutely hate about this profession, and that is the negativity in times like this and how certain individuals prey on the challenges and struggles of others. I was so fired up about this that I just did an Instagram Live about it, and I’m sharing the audio from that broadcast right here for you to tune into in case you missed it. Whether you’re a Beautycounter Brand Advocate or just somebody in this profession who wants to elevate the way you do business, this is an important episode. I hope this provides some clarity for you during difficult times, as I shine the light on the dark side of our industry. Listen to Learn 7:54 - What normally happens when news like this is announced and how I feel about this type of reaction 10:31 - A critical choice that we must make when we are going through challenging times 13:56 - Exciting details on our brand-new workshop, Transformed! 14:58 - Our own personal adversity that we faced as a company last year and the lessons I learned from experiencing it 18:10 - A simple question for you if you are going through tough times right now Are you tired of all the transactional strategies being taught today?
