As I prepare to return to work, Im taking time to reflect on what really matters to me & how I can best align this through my day-to-day activities & the strategies I Iead at work. For me, this looks like: - Enabling respectful and inclusive workplaces. - Fostering opportunities that address the vast inequality in society. - Opening doors to “let women in” and provide them the means to self-direct their futures. - Surrounding myself with people who share my values and are driven by a bigger purpose. My role at Icon provides me a bit of a head-start on realising some of these things. But none of this happens without partnership, collaboration and shared value relationships. I look forward to exploring who will invite me in & who I will seek out during 2024 to support this agenda. Will it be you? I’d love to connect! Bring on 2024! ……. 2023 finished with some pretty spectacular acknowledgement, like the partnership with Assembled Threads (attached). It just goes to show that when your values align you can achieve great things, and a bigger purpose.

Host of The Mr. Jack Johnson Show | Entrepreneur | Speaker | Connecting Business, Entertainment, and American Culture
"Ladies and gentlemen, Today, I want to talk about the incredible women who work tirelessly to build our communities, drive our economies, and care for our families. Women workers are the backbone of our society, yet they often face unfair challenges and barriers. They earn less than their male counterparts, have limited access to benefits and opportunities, and are underrepresented in leadership positions. But I stand before you today to say that we can do better. We must do better. We need to support women workers by: - Closing the gender pay gap - Providing affordable childcare and family leave - Offering training and education programs - Promoting women to leadership positions - Creating safe and inclusive workplaces When we support women workers, we're not just doing what's right – we're doing what's smart. We're unleashing the full potential of our workforce, driving innovation, and building a stronger economy for all. So let's make a commitment today to stand with women workers. Let's celebrate their contributions, amplify their voices, and fight for their rights. Together, we can create a world where every woman can thrive and reach her full potential. Thank you."

Named one of EY's Entrepreneurial Winning Women, Keynote Speaker/Women's Health Advocate/Founder @ Sipology | We make Matcha taste great!
Do you love networking? This week alone, I've attended two events, had a lunch date, and participated in a few calls with people I'm genuinely excited to get to know. I can't stress enough how important networking is. Here's why: 1. Feeling Less Alone As entrepreneurs, we often feel isolated, and our challenges can seem overwhelming. It's always refreshing to connect with others and realize we're not alone—everyone is dealing with something. Sharing experiences can be a real comfort. 2. Opening New Doors Networking can introduce you to people who might be pivotal for your company's growth. I can't count the number of times a simple introduction has changed my life. These connections can lead to opportunities you never imagined. 3. Enjoying the Company of Others I genuinely love people—not all people, but most. Just being honest! Connecting with others is one of the joys of networking. Earlier this year, I re-joined The Women's Presidents Organization, and I've been thrilled with all the new friends and connections I've made. Make Time for Networking Networking is crucial for both personal and professional growth. You'll be amazed at the benefits it brings. Love, Tonia XO Sources
#WPOEndorsement "Seven years ago, I took a leap and joined the #WomenPresidentsOrganization (WPO). However, after just six months I stepped back. At the time, I was struggling with imposter syndrome and didn’t feel like I deserved a seat at the table with so many amazing women. "Fast forward to January of this year, and I felt the timing was right. This time, everything felt different. I’ve spent years reflecting on my journey, and I’ve come to understand my worth and the unique contributions I can make to this community. "Here’s to authenticity, empowerment, and the incredible women who make this organization so special! 💖" – Tonia Jahshan (Toronto IV Chapter Member). #WomenSupportingWomen Barbara Green Jennifer Rhee

Organizational Development Leader I Master Trainer I Health & Wellbeing Advocate I DEI & Change Management I Author-in-making
To me, becoming a brand ambassador of something means that you believe in that cause, endorse that cause and want to raise awareness for that cause. We talk a lot about the fancy words like women empowerment, we read so many reports on it every year, organize workshops and celebrate days to reassure ourselves that we are empowered. However, what I truly believe to be women empowerment is that: 1. Women should have the decency and courage to support other women, instead of leg-pulling, name-calling, and scoffing down upon them. 2. Women MUST have access to basic rights like healthcare, education, equality and inclusion. 3. Women MUST learn to become financially literate as well as financially independent; not because then they won't need a partner, but because then they will be able to complement their partners, and raise children who can respect humans (irrespective of their castes, genders, colors, social status). I have seen Alishba Tayyab speaking about women empowerment through her initiatives at WSHR, under Green HRS. I stand by every woman who has the heart of a lioness to cheer for other women, and straighten up their crowns if they stumble. Sana Khan Founder & CEO HER Health- Women's Gyne & Mental Health

Have you ever thought about why there are so few women in public office? If you’re ready to create change and see more women in politics, then you’re in the right place. Encourage a woman you know to run for office, learn what your role is in the fight to equality, and sign up to learn how you can make a difference in getting more women into the halls of power:

Digital Stormwater | B2B Visibility & Digital Marketing Making an impact in stormwater one click at a time. Best know beats best every time.
The 2024 theme for International Women's Day is "Invest in women: Accelerate progress," with a focus of achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions. There is always a ying and yang in the discussion of feminism and how "progress" is measured. I think it is important to recognize that true equality is the ability to choose and validate all choices. We tend to give less credence to the women who choose to be stay at home mothers or wives, but those choices are valid. The choices of women who are the family breadwinners or single mothers supporting their families are valid also. There is a lot of bashing other women's choices in feminism, and we need to realize that we all get to make the choices that are best for us, and support each other in those choices.
International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Today we celebrate all that women bring to the table in all different fields, and all different life choices. We celebrate the stay at home mothers and home makers. We celebrate the CEOs and business leaders. We celebrate the workers, the professionals. We thank them all for keeping our world running and for showing the little girls growing up they can truly do whatever they choose.
