Digital self-expression through avatars and wearables is more important than ever. It's a smart tactic for brands exploring social gaming platforms like Roblox, who may not want the cost and risk of building their own full-fledged experience. Just look at the recent adidas x Karlie Kloss Roblox pop up (a virtual extension of their history of collaborative physical apparel), or the avatar shops for IP like Olivia Rodrigo and Nicki Minaj centred on unlocking UGC. For our Hilton x Slivingland campaign, we worked with Lovespun, a beloved Roblox creator, to refresh Paris Hilton's new avatar and create these stunning holographic Hilton Honors UGC antlers. How cute are these? I utterly love them––and so do Paris fans. Fashion meets #sliving strategy. Here's why we included Hilton-branded UGC in our campaign: • Hair accessories dominate on Roblox. Players bought more than 139M hairstyles, up 20% from the year before. • 84% of Gen Z that try or wear a brand's item on their avatars are somewhat likely to consider the brand in real life • Slivingland UGC gets claimed in minutes (sometimes even before I can snag one for myself!). Smart move by Meta: they understood that the fashionable glasses design offered by Luxottica, together with its distribution network, are two crucial factors that may lead to the success of smart glasses. For this reason, they made sure to close a partnership with Luxottica until 2030. If the partnership were exclusive, Meta would have an incredible edge over other smartglass manufacturers in trying to reach a consumer audience. Probably the only one that could still compete is Apple, because it has already a brand with a strong lifestyle meaning.
