Worth remembering that the ABPI is still consulting on the 2024 update to the ABPI Code – we have until 29 February to let them know what we think of the proposed changes. For my money, there is nothing particularly detailed that will make the use of social media any clearer. I’d hoped to see some of the rationale behind the many social media PMCPA cases find their way into the new Code, making it a little easier for us to figure out how best to use platforms such as this one and others to remain compliant. So I’ll be nudging the ABPI to hit the beach with a few new clauses better detailing what we can and can’t do. It’s certainly an area of concern and interest. And (he says), don’t forget that I offer face to face and virtual ABPI Code information and training – intro, deep-dive or subject specific. It’s an easy way to update on a complex subject and ensure you meet the PMCPA’s requirement of relevant Code training. It’s cost effective too – as well as the training, you get the recording and presentation to upload to your company platform.
