Last week, Driscoll's hosted two book readings of our award-winning children's book "A Sofia Special" in our growing region of Oxnard. These events were part of a nationwide book reading tour with Reading Is Fundamental, the nation's leading children's literacy non-profit. As part of Driscoll's goal to create more opportunities for childhood and youth development, this partnership supports RIF's mission of disrupting the U.S. literacy crisis by bringing the joy of reading to children and creating skilled readers while reinforcing Driscoll's commitment to invest in local health and education programs in the Vibrant Communities it has called home for more than 100 years as One Family, One Earth™. Thank you to Ventura County Star and Juan Carlo Mendoza for covering our event at Christa McAuliffe STEAM Academy, where Driscoll's employees volunteered to read the book to a group of second graders. Every student got to take home at least three books, participate in fun literacy activities and enjoy a berry feast following the readings! https://lnkd.in/gJJW5z-8
Sweetness Worth Sharing! Great partnership with Reading Is Fundamental to bring joy to the communities that grow our berries. Thanks to the Driscoll's employees who support the effort, Matthew Quinlan, Marisa Christensen, Moises Hurtado and more!
