As we wave goodbye to another year and our waistlines wave goodbye to roast turkey, beef stew or spiced gingerbread, it's time to look back and dream about the future. At DC Venturing, we're all about this mission. In these times, teamwork and unity are key to a bright future. In 2024, we kicked off the B-SMARTT! Platform with our pals at Ghent University, Maastricht University, University of Antwerp, Tenco Proto, and Additive Mindset. This project helps small and medium-sized businesses grow with a circular mindset by providing expertise in materials, additive manufacturing, and validation while remaining environmentally friendly. We also teamed up with Lynqo, a startup that makes handling surgical instruments in hospitals a breeze. Together, we nailed our first project: creating a circular business model for their solution. Pretty smart, right? Through CiDroNet, we’re part of a brainy group in Stad Antwerpen and The Beacon | Innovation Community working on the oh-so-cool integration of drone transport into city mobility and logistics. Watch out for flying packages! Our collaboration with Agoria sent us on a fun trip to Barcelona, where we promoted regional development under the EU Cities mission. We’re all about building sustainable cities across Europe! We plan to build on this progress and uncover new ways to collaborate in 2025. We have big plans and expect to kick off at least two projects that will leave a mark. Stay tuned for more updates! The Europe-wide Drive2Transform project was recently launched under the coordination of R-Tech Group in #Regensburg!🚀 The initiative will better connect small and medium-sized companies in the automotive sector and actively shape the transition towards electrification, automation and new business models. It brings together nine experienced partners from eight European countries. 🌍 Networking opportunities like these are precisely the reason why Bavaria excels in cross-industry innovation. In the mobility sector, initiatives such as the Mobility & Logistics Cluster or the Digital Hub Mobility are also creating a platform for disruptive innovations. Projects such as the Hydrogen Centre. Looking Forward to Speaking at Mobility Innovation Week 2024 in Japan next week! I'm thrilled to be part of Mobility Innovation Week 2024 in Japan in my role as spokesperson of the Open Auto Drive Forum (OADF), where I’ll be discussing an exciting topic: the role of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and driving automation in fostering sustainable mobility. This event provides a unique platform to engage with industry leaders and explore how technology can propel us toward a greener, more efficient future. SDVs and automated driving technologies hold the potential to reshape how we think about transportation. By enabling vehicles that are smarter, adaptable, and more efficient, we can reduce emissions, optimize energy consumption, and improve road safety. The flexibility of SDVs, combined with the advancements in driver assistance and automation, empowers us to create transportation solutions that are both technologically advanced and environmentally conscious. With just one milling and one turning machine, we quickly grew into a trusted supplier for companies such as Philips and DAF. Thanks to continuous investments and strategic choices, we have grown into an international high-tech organisation. This anniversary year is particularly special as we recently had to say goodbye to our founder, 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧. His vision, dedication, and entrepreneurship laid the foundation for what KMWE is today. We honour his legacy by continuing our core values of innovation, quality, and collaboration. His passion lives on in everything we do. Over the years, we have achieved significant milestones – here is a selection of key moments that have shaped us.
