Today, September 13th, marks Drive Clean Colorado’s 31st anniversary 🎉 Our journey began in 1993 as the Denver Metro Clean Cities Coalition, one of the first coalitions designated under the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Clean Cities program. Now, over three decades later, we continue accelerating the equitable adoption of clean transportation across Colorado with the support of our stakeholders. Over the years, our impact has grown significantly, reducing over 130,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions last year alone, helping to improve air quality across the state. The next standard application round of the Colorado Energy Office's Charge Ahead Colorado grant will open on September 16. #ChargeAheadColorado provides funding for community-based EV charging stations in order to improve air quality, reduce transportation emissions, and encourage EV adoption across Colorado. At Drive Clean Colorado, we’re proud to collaborate with our local communities, providing education and hands-on experiences in clean transportation, including electric vehicles. Since the start of 2024, DCC has hosted and supported 56 community engagement events, including EV workshops, showcases, and ride & drives. Through these events, we’ve connected with over 5,500 community members across Colorado! Our team had a great time earlier this week with Forth and Black Hills Energy at the Rocky Ford Ride & Drive EV-ent! Over 50 people got behind the wheel to test drive an electric vehicle, and even more were able to experience EVs firsthand, asking questions about tax incentives, charging, and checking out the vehicles on showcase.
