Understanding drivers' hours regulations for HGV1 routes 🛣️ When it comes to driving hours, regulations can vary significantly between domestic and international routes. Here are key differences I've noticed: - Domestic routes generally follow UK-specific rules, allowing a maximum of 10 hours of driving daily and up to 11 hours of duty. - International routes must adhere to EU regulations, which set a maximum of 9 hours of driving daily, with possible extensions to 10 hours twice a week. These regulations are crucial for safety and compliance. It's important to be aware of the specific rules that apply to your journeys. How do these rules impact your daily operations? ⚠ Did you know that HGV's have areas of limited Visibility? #NationalHighways #knowthezones campaign 📢 highlights the dangers to road users, if they stay within these zones where HGV's have limited visibility. Motorways and major A-roads carry roughly 79% of freight nationally in the UK, the bulk of which is carried on HGV's, these vehicles are considerably longer, heavier, and more powerful than standard vehicles. They also need more stopping distance. Other drivers and road users often underestimate the size and position of these zones of limited visibility. Please be aware of the zones so you can stay safe. Take a look as the campaign video and share if you can.
