I help professionals effectively address workplace challenges, thrive at work and accelerate career growth | Executive Coach, Corporate Trainer, L&D Specialist | Workplace Success, Leadership Dev. & Personal Branding
I liked the perspective captured in the article. Networking is not about knowing but about connecting (well). Here are my five favorite pointers from the article that definitely aids in connecting well, especially in the context of a "new job". 1. Cultivate Allies 2. Work on pulling people into your network rather than pushing your way 3. Create energy in interactions 4. Give ideas 5. Stay curious And, here's how you may make the above (pointers) happen 1. Stay open to collaborating and cooperating with others. Establishing "working relationship" is a good first step to build professional buddies. 2. A new workplace is a fertile ground for establishing visibility for yourself. Leave no opportunity to showcase your brand and make it relatable by aligning to organisation's brand. 3. Along with interest and intent, carry plenty of excitement into your every conversation/ interaction with others. People get instantly drawn to enthusiastic personalities. 4. In a new job, one of the easiest way to contribute your bit and add value is to exhibit out of box thing and share uninhibitedly. Your different perspectives and/ or POV (point of view) may make a huge difference to seeing things or problems (in new light). 5. When new to a role/ workplace, ask as many questions as possible to build clarity about your role/ function and better understanding about the ecosystem. Once you know the system well, it adds to your credibility and also makes it lot more easy for you to establish trust with the stakeholders. #networking #effectivenetworking #networkingtips Thanks Harvard Business Review for this wonderful piece on networking😊
