At the outset I would like to thank Dr. Radhika Patoriya for her kind words and testimonial. However, let me tell you this post is not about the testimonial, Dr Radhika or me. It's about the evolving landscape of healthcare and the multitude of opportunities for doctors to make a difference. Gone are the days when the only path for a physician was within the four walls of a clinic or hospital. Today, doctors are stepping into diverse roles that allow them to influence healthcare on a larger scale, leveraging their expertise in innovative ways. Take, for example, Dr. Radhika, a dedicated radiation oncologist who recently sought guidance on exploring non-traditional career paths. Driven by curiosity and a passion for broader impact, she is now on a journey to redefine what it means to be a healthcare professional. Healthcare is complex and the complexity generates a lot of opportunities. By embracing roles in health tech, medical strategy, digital health, and more, doctors can impact patient care differently and, often, more profoundly. If you’re a healthcare professional curious about exploring alternative career paths and making a significant impact, let’s connect! I’m here to help you navigate the exciting and ever-expanding world of non-traditional medical careers. 🚀 🔗 Reach out to me on https://lnkd.in/dAn679V3 and let’s discuss how you can redefine your journey in healthcare. #HealthcareInnovation #MedicalCareers #DigitalHealth #MedicalStrategy #CareerChange #HealthcareTransformation #DoctorLife #Topmate #consultant https://lnkd.in/d3Ckv8Pe

Despite having both parents in the medical field, I chose not to become a doctor. Here's why: The immense dedication and grueling hours required in healthcare often don't match the rewards. In today's world, other careers offer greater rewards with less time and effort. I found fulfillment in forging my own path, where I can make a significant impact and achieve my goals more efficiently. Sometimes, tradition isn't the best path forward. #BreakingTradition #CareerChoices #Healthcare #ProfessionalJourney

DON'T become a doctor. That's what 20+ physicians told me when I worked in the hospital.🏥 I asked them, "If you could go back and do it again, would you still become a doctor?" The answer was overwhelmingly "NO." 😲 Their reasons? 👉🏼 Lack of autonomy 👉🏼 Stressed and unhealthy 👉🏼 Frustrated at the system 👉🏼 Single without time to date 👉🏼 Overworked and under paid 👉🏼 Divorced twice after 10 years 👉🏼 Missed out on a decade of life 👉🏼 Not enough time with their kids ...............And the list went on................ So I had to reassess. What should I do with my career? 🤔 ___________ This is what happens to THOUSANDS of prospective doctors each year. They see the dissatisfaction They hear doctors' honest opinion And look elsewhere to establish a career. No wonder we're short on physicians! ________________ As for me, Although it's frustrating at times, I LOVE healthcare. I also love data and process improvement. Now I support healthcare leaders all over the US, providing analytics and Epic support to make their lives easier. ❤️ ___________________ Non-Clinicians in healthcare: ➡ How did you get here? That’s one side of the mirror. In fact when I became a doctor I had plenty of time to speak and TALK with my patients And a few hours to burocratic work. Nowadays we have plenty of time in computers trying to assess digital plataforms to fill, in order to “serve” a huge hierarquy of informatics and administrators. And the time to speak, talk and empathise with patients, be came shorter and shorter. That’ s a way of practice medicine that is no more actrative and is perhaps a pervasive form of practicing medicine. Doctors are humanistic scientists, not burocratic performers. That is why many of them gabe and give up actually. In adition they wont be autonomous and not beeing manipulated by patients and administrations.

Navigating Healthcare Careers: Insights by Me (Yes, it is me) !! Hello LinkedIn community, I'm thrilled to share my recent experience addressing the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, where I had the opportunity to discuss the diverse career avenues within the healthcare industry. With 15 years in education, specializing in student mentorship, unraveling the myriad possibilities in this dynamic field was a pleasure. In the ever-evolving healthcare landscape, I highlighted its transformative growth and crucial role in promoting wellness, preventing diseases, and delivering advanced medical care. My focus was on providing insights into the wide-ranging career paths available, beyond the conventional roles of doctors and nurses. Drawing on my background in education, I explored lesser-known but equally significant roles in healthcare administration, medical research, healthcare IT, and public health. I aimed to provide the LinkedIn community with a comprehensive understanding of the educational requirements, skill sets, and potential career trajectories associated with each path. As we navigate towards holistic approaches to healthcare, I shed light on the current shift towards a more comprehensive and patient-centric healthcare model that makes these non-traditional paths increasingly relevant. In conclusion, I aimed to inspire the LinkedIn community, particularly the next generation of healthcare professionals, to explore and contribute to this ever-expanding field. I hope this post is a source of valuable insights for those who are considering or are already on their journey within the healthcare industry.
