Another challenging case in which there was both C1 fracture and odontoid tip of C2 fracture with disruption of ligamentous complex. Considering both we did placement of odontoid screw with fixation of C1-C2 using anterior only approach. This is another addition to my minimal invasive spine surgery list. Spondylodesis has the goal of stabilizing the spine, relieving pain and preventing abnormal movement between fused segments. The hydrogel will be placed inside the PEEK cage with the goal of stimulating bone growth and fusion. The hydrogel promotes bone cell infiltration and vascularization, ensuring strong and stable fusion over time. The composition, quantity and degree of hydrogel cross-linking for a specific patient (custom product) will be worked out with the doctor. Below is a presentation on the model.
