I'm bored of reading dull, jargon-filled journal articles. I'm bored of writing them! This book has given me a fresh perspective. I'm now more confident to be bolder, and a bit more fun in how I write. Dull academic writing certainly isn't *the* convention, it's something we choose to do because it's comfortable and it fits in with the norm. But we can choose not to. I'd very much recommend this book. A lot of the principles naturally extend into teaching and presenting too. I should probably end with some sort of rousing call to arms, so... Join the stylish academic writing revolution!

The same can be said for engineering reports!
