As we wrapped up our time at the 2024 AES Automotive conference, we couldn't help but to reflect on how it truly takes a village to make a software-defined vehicle. Through collaboration with leading SW, HW and IP partners along with Audio Weaver, we’re able to deliver the key elements of a software-defined vehicle audio architecture, as outlined below. It was great to see so many of our partners at the conference where we could experience their latest advancements in this expanding segment of the industry. Until the next one! #AES2024 #AudioWeaver #SoftwareDefinedVehicle
We at Impulse Audio Lab are excited to be part of this ecosystem! A big thank you to the teams at DSP Concepts for bringing us on board.

4moThis is a good illustration of how the supplier landscape is changing from competition between full service Tier-1s to collaborative value comprised of a multitude of SW/HW suppliers. From my perspective, it also highlights the need for a new type of supplier who can take on overall top-to-bottom ownership of the entire IVI SW stack, including platform/system integration and production SW deployment. In the past, this cost was usually buried within the cost of a HW platform and the HW Tier-1 took on this task. But, as we we all know, the SW complexity and needed SW/Syst competencies to do this well go beyond the capability of most legacy HW suppliers. IMHO, I think OEM's will be better off understanding this new challenge, unbundling it from the HW, and finding capable suppliers who are ready to take overall SW/System ownership as a service.
