Here's a breakdown of both: **Transactions:** * **MIRO:** This is the classic transaction code for manually creating and recording vendor invoices. It allows you to enter invoice details, reference purchase orders or goods receipts, and perform price verifications. **Apps:** * **Manage Supplier Invoices (F0859):** This Fiori app provides a user-friendly interface for creating, displaying, and managing supplier invoices. It offers functionalities similar to MIRO but with a more modern and intuitive design. You can reference purchase orders, goods receipts, or enter invoice details directly. * **Supplier Invoices List (FBL1N):** This Fiori app lets you search for existing supplier invoices based on various criteria like vendor name, invoice date, or document number. You can also drill down into specific invoices for detailed information. **Choosing Between Transactions and Apps:** * **MIRO:** Ideal for power users who prefer a more granular control over invoice creation. SAP ERP Connectivity Options As Integration Solution Architects in a professional services organization, we often move from project to project, providing integration solutions and connecting to a myriad of systems. It's impossible to become experts in every system's connectivity capabilities. That's why aligning with the system owners we're trying to integrate with is crucial to understanding their unique connectivity options. Some systems offer RESTful APIs, others SOAP Web Services, or proprietary protocols like SAP's RFCs, etc. Occasionally, the system owners themselves may not fully grasp their system's capabilities. In such situations, we must remember that as Solution Architects, we are expected to drive projects forward and not remain passive. Sometimes, investing just half a day to learn a system’s integration capabilities can make a significant difference. I'm sharing what I learned this weekend about SAP’s connectivity capabilities with external systems. Up until now, my experience was limited to connecting with SAP BAPIs and IDocs using MuleSoft and Spring Framework via the Java Connector (SAP JCo). By the way, MuleSoft supports all of them. SAP's Classic Connectivity Technologies RFC (Remote Function Call): Facilitates communication between applications in different systems within the SAP environment, including connections between SAP systems and between SAP and non-SAP systems. IDoc Interface: Exchanges business data with an external system. It consists of a data structure definition and the processing logic associated with this structure. BAPI (Business Application Programming Interface): BAPIs are RFC-enabled function modules stored in the ABAP Workbench Function Builder. They provide standard business interfaces that allow external applications to access SAP processes, functions, and data. Other available technologies in SAP Internet Communication Framework (ICF): Allows communication with the SAP system using standard Internet protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, and SMTP). It receives and processes HTTP calls from a client and forwards them to the relevant application to execute ABAP programs. Web Service Technologies on the Application Server: Expose existing functions (BAPIs, RFMs, IDocs, EJBs) as SOAP web services and process web services from any provider. SAP Gateway: Provides a connection between devices, environments, and platforms with SAP systems using the OData protocol. This enables the use of any programming language or model to connect SAP and non-SAP applications. Step 3: A new transport request (TR) number will then be generated. Step 4: Once completed, your package will be successfully created.
