Education for All: Promoting Inclusion and Dignity Educational projects for LGBTQIA+ refugees are essential to ensure that everyone has access to quality education, free from discrimination and violence. Following United Nations guidelines, these projects provide a safe and welcoming environment where each individual can learn and grow without fear of being discriminated against because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. By investing in these initiatives, we are not only promoting equality and inclusion, but also actively combating discrimination and prejudice. Education sensitive to gender and sexuality issues plays a crucial role in building more just and respectful societies, aligned with the fundamental values of human rights and dignity for all. Together, we can create a world where education is truly accessible to everyone, regardless of their background, identity or orientation. We will support and promote educational projects for LGBTQIA+ refugees, contributing to a more inclusive and equal future for all. By. 📣 Are you a (#disabled) #activist, #practitioner or person interested in or already making use of the Right to Information Act (#RTI) in #SriLanka? Check out this new RTI Guide I developed with the support of VisAbility Lanka. The #Guide simplifies the RTI application process into easy-to-follow steps, provides example questions for RTI requests (e.g. #disabilitylivingallowance, #housing) and offers practical tips to help you navigate the system. While it’s tailored for #peoplewithdisabilities, it can be a helpful document for others as well. #Translations in #Tamil and #Sinhala are available here (scroll down): https://lnkd.in/eNXgyjB6 #righttoinformation #RTI #freedomofinformation #FOI #RTIapplication #FOIrequest #accesstoinformation #inclusion #transparency #SriLanka #lka #disabled #socialprotection Namati ARTICLE 19 Centre for Law and Democracy Coventry University

OZARA d.o.o., a Slovenian partner of the Include3 project, presented the project to the public on 15 th of March 2024. The presentation included information about all new documents that were developed in the last year. The participants in the event were persons that help with job search, training and education, work tasks and social inclusion. The participants talked about how to make life better for everyone. It is important to improve services for people with disabilities. More organisations should be included to offer training for employment. The participants also talked that it is important for people with disabilities to live on their own, to be more independent in life and employment. Each person should be given more time and special care. It is important that each person has chance for training for concrete job position. Employers have hard times in finding people to have skills they need. Project Include3 will work to include skills needed in the future training. Drawing from my experience in disability rights advocacy, I have examined how hierarchy and privilege in organisations of persons with disabilities sometimes shape the agenda of disability rights advocacy leading to marginalisation of uneducated persons with disabilities in my latest chapter in "The Routledge International Handbook of Disability Human Rights Hierarchies".

When it comes to public participation you find that proposals floated reflect the different status and needs of people. Often, youth are looking for opportunities while aged are looking for stability, that's why proposed priorities are different. Yesterday we had an opportunity to learn from the Chief Officer planning and budgeting @mutuaboniface on Gender responsive budgeting and public participation. Youth have an opportunity to build resilience and develop sustainably from engaging Makueni county thru public participation #youth #cdsc4yrb #communitybasedpartnerships #youthdevelopment

#NAAW This year let's shine a spotlight on the disability complaints reviewed and ruled upon by our Human Rights Tribunals and courts. Let's then start to finally use these findings and rulings to lead the required changes in our legislation, policies, and education/licensing reforms. We are being told every day what's wrong and broken, where the barriers, loop holes and misunderstandings are, but are STILL not using that information to fix the source of those problems. Stop letting those barriers or mistakes happen again. What a waste of specific, targeted, valuable information! #AccessibleCanada #NationalAccessAbilityWeek #NAAW2024 #ADA #EAA #AODA #AMA #NSAA #ABCA #NLAA #ASA #DisabilityJustice #DisabilityJustice #disability #inclusion #accessibility #UniversalDesign #architecture #InteriorDesign #LandscapeArchitecture #UrbanPlanning #design #education #legislation #policy #BillionStrong #CRPD #SDGs #WeCanFixThis #CultureChange

A Message for Happy Africa Day from the President of the Disability Youth Advocacy Network in Zimbabwe (Michael Masunda) On this Africa Day, as we celebrate the vast potential of our continent, I bring you greetings from DYANZ, a collective voice for Africa's youth with disabilities and young women. This year's theme, "Educate an African fit for the 21st century," resonates deeply within our organization. We, the brimming future of Africa, stand at a crossroads. The education we receive today will determine the course of our continent for generations to come. An Africa fit for the 21st century is an Africa that is inclusive, innovative, and brimming with empowered youth. It is an Africa where disability is not a barrier but a source of strength. It is an Africa where young women are not just given a seat at the table but are architects of progress. We cannot achieve this future without an education system that works for all. We need an education that dismantles stereotypes, embraces diversity, and equips every young African with the skills to thrive in this dynamic century. This means ensuring equal access to quality education for our youth with disabilities. It means empowering young women to pursue careers in STEM fields, entrepreneurship, and leadership. It means fostering a culture of innovation and critical thinking where every voice is heard and valued. On this Africa Day, let us recommit ourselves to the promise of an inclusive and prosperous Africa. Let us invest in education that kindles the potential within every young African, and together, let us shape a future where disability and gender are not limitations, but opportunities. Together, let us educate an Africa fit for the 21st century, an Africa where every young person, with or without a disability, a boy or a girl, can reach their full potential and contribute to the greatness of our continent. Happy Africa Day! #fodpz #nascoh #zbc #disabilityinclusive #yalizimbabwe #yalisouthafrica #yalialumni #usaid #mastercard #zyc #zimgospelmasterstv #3ktv #heartandsoulstv #
