IMPORTANT: On February 19, Connectwise advised about two vulnerabilities in Screenconnect versions prior to 23.9.7: CWE-288 Authentication bypass using an alternate path or channel (Severity 10) CWE-22 Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory (“path traversal”) (Severity 8.4) Both vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to remotely execute code or view and impact potentially sensitive data. How to Mitigate: Connectwise has released a patch for Screenconnect, updating to version 23.9.8. Important: Blackpoint’s SOC has NOT seen any indicators of compromise in our partners’ environments. The Blackpoint SOC will continue to actively monitor for any indicators of compromise associated with this vulnerability.
