In various industries and departments, I've noticed a concerning trend where cost-benefit analysis (CBA) is often neglected or inadequately performed for operational procurements. Frequently, services or products are acquired solely because others have done so, disregarding distinct organizational contexts. This oversight can stem from either intentional disregard or incompetence among people working at organizations. Consequently, procured products and services often remain suboptimized, failing to leverage their full potential. The repercussions of this oversight are substantial, leading to inflated project costs and production expenses. Therefore, conducting comprehensive CBAs is crucial for informed decision-making. In reality, CBA should be analyzed in broader scenarios and from a long-term perspective to enable organizations to make strategic choices, optimize resources, and drive sustainable growth. This is what a professional is supposed to do. #CBA #BusinessExcellence #ResourceOptimization
