We will jump on a call to discuss details or questions on a deal, but sometimes an email accurately stating what the question or clarification needed works best. Crazy how you will get off these types of calls where something gets explained but then an underwriter needs to see it in writing as well—leading one to ask “What was the point of that call?”

Clear to Close in 3 easy steps 1) Submit a clean file. It's best practice to have your AE review the 1003 credit report and any additional documents you have on hand before it goes to underwriting. Once you have uploaded your file into our Glide portal, contact your AE immediately so they can review it. 2) 3rd party delays are no joke! Order the Appraisal and title as soon as you can. This is a critical piece of our loan, and we need to review it as soon as possible. 3) Conditions—piece mailing conditions cause a backlog and delay your file. Gather all conditions as soon as possible and submit them in full to avoid multiple touches to your file. Communication is key. Ensure your AE reviews your initial submissions, once approved - reviews the approval with you and your processing team and answers any questions you may have. Clearly communicating the production flow of your file ensures we are all on target for a successful transaction. Ready, set, let's go! I remember the first time I saw one…. The struggle is real…am I right? The reality; however, is that they are necessary and they aren’t going away. Learn to do them right and your life is much easier! I can’t tell you how often I see Acords submitted that barely have any information on them. That’s a great way to NOT get what you want from a carrier. Prepare them well to minimize delays on your quotes, reduce the risk of gaps in coverage, get the best possible terms, and allow your underwriter to make good underwriting decisions. It’s worth it.
