October serves as a significant milestone in our calendar - it's Blindness Awareness Month. This is a time to understand more about blindness and vision loss, and highlight the important strides being made in accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities. Outlook Enrichment works continuously to support individuals experiencing vision loss, facilitating their access to essential services and technologies. We believe in a society where vision does not determine capability, and where accessibility is not the exception, but the norm. This month, let's broaden our understanding of blindness and vision loss, and reflect on how we can contribute to building a more inclusive society. Awareness is the first step toward change. Join us in spreading the word. #BlindnessAwarenessMonth #OutlookEnrichment

As we prepare to celebrate Juneteenth tomorrow, we've been thinking about a recent program with a global tech company. The program focused on honoring and discussing Juneteenth, and imagining how we can all, as individuals and organizations, contribute to a fair and just society. The participants explored Octavia Butler's "The Book of Martha" in small breakout sessions. After the discussion, one participant said: “We talked about how ordinary people are asked to do extraordinary things. That sticks with me as I think about my own commitment to action to drive equity and inclusion.” Learn more about how you can bring Reflection Point to your organization: https://lnkd.in/eWY4fbgb

This past weekend, I had the pleasure to participate in Technica -- the world's largest hackathon for underrepresented genders. I had fond memories of the first one I went to last year, even though I didn't win anything, and this year I was determined to make the most of my time. With my friends Sabrina Huang, Emma Tong, and Amy Xu in tow, we set off to create Make Cents, a game that provides a visual demonstration of budgeting, where to allocate your savings, and scenarios to get the user thinking about good spending habits. The game, developed in Godot Engine, deployed on itch.io, and utilizing assets made on Asperite, taught us a lot along the way. Our motto: "Learning about budgeting shouldn't have to be hard. We want to help you make it *make cents* (sense)!" I am thrilled to share that we won the "Best Use of FinTech" category sponsored by T. Rowe Price! I am grateful to the judges, participants, mentors, and most of all, my friends, for making this such a memorable event. (And, shoutout to Annaika T. for letting me know about this opportunity in the first place! Thank you so much!) Interested in learning more about our hack? It's National Set a Good Example Day! 🤩 Today, let's highlight the incredible influence we have on the next generation. Showcasing images of children observing positive behavior reminds us of the importance of our daily actions. Let's lead by example, not just for today, but for every day that follows. Our actions speak louder than words, and by demonstrating kindness, empathy, and integrity, we shape a brighter future for all. #LeadByExample #PositiveInfluence #SetAGoodExample
