SA Government investing in jobs for the future to ease state housing crisis Five technical colleges – three in metropolitan Adelaide and two in regional South Australia – are being built at a cost of $208.8 million. The colleges – at Findon, Tonsley, Modbury Heights, Mount Gambier and Port Augusta – will support school students in Years 10-12 to complete their SACE while undertaking vocational education and training (VET) in specialist facilities. We've been busy this year at What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth with our local government engagement. We've had folks from 134 of the 400-odd LAs and MCAs attend our training or events so far this year. A couple things I'm mulling over: 1) To what extent does this engagement depend on a team's capacity to attend amidst all their other commitments? 2) How do we better support the move from attending training to implementing changes? 3) How do I stop the voice in my head that says "But why isn't it 100% of local government, Megan?"
