We believe rest & rejuvenation should be a priority and employers & employees benefit mutually when employees take time off. And research shows that traveler’s health and well-being peak on the eighth day of a vacation. Here's how to make the most out of your remaining PTO days in 2024: Sept. 3-6 = 9 Days Off (Including Labor Day Weekend) Nov. 12-15 = 9 Days Off (Included Veteran's Day) Nov. 25-27 & 29 = 9 Days Off (Including Thanksgiving) Dec. 23-24, 27, 30-31 = 12 Days off (Including Christmas & New Years Day) https://lnkd.in/eMg-ba6X

PTO can mean different things depending on who you ask. Sometimes it covers all paid time off—sick days, vacations, holidays, and personal days. Other times, it’s one unified policy that replaces separate time-off categories. Simplifying it sounds great, but is it really that easy? Let’s break it down in this episode. Work hard, rest harder. ✨ This holiday season, make the most of your PTO by prioritizing what really matters — your peace of mind. 🧘🏾♀️ Here’s a few ways to make your PTO work for you: ❄️ Start early: Submit your PTO requests early to lock in your time before others. Discuss holiday plans with your colleagues early in the year to ensure smooth coverage. This helps secure your preferred days off before schedules fill up! ❄️ Plan around statutory holidays: Use holidays like Christmas (December 25) and Boxing Day (December 26) to your advantage. ❄️ Use the “weekend sandwich” method: Take PTO before or after weekends to extend your break. For example: Take Dec 23, 27, 30 as PTO. Statutory holidays are on December 25 & 26 (Christmas & Boxing Day) resulting in a 10-day holiday break using only 3 PTO days! ❄️ Check your company’s PTO rollover policy: Some companies allow unused PTO to roll over into the next year. Strategically save a few days this year to pair with next year’s holidays for an extended vacation. Review your employee handbook or talk to HR to confirm the details and plan ahead! #pto #holidays #worklifebalance #selfcare

Nice little cheat sheet! A balance of work and family time and/or rest is essential in 2025! Burnt out employees are statistically not as productive. We get more out of people if they feel valued and respected. PTO is a major factor in respect! The same for managers and directors. If we’re stressed, over worked and burnt out progress happens much slower and with more missteps

**Use Your PTO Wisely** Maximizing your PTO is key, especially around holidays. One of my students recently said, “Two weeks ago, we didn’t see you on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.” I explained that I had taken my first vacation day at my new job, combining it with the holiday break for a longer period of rest and relaxation. I always remind my students: when you start your first full-time job, it’s crucial to pass your probationary period, but it’s just as important to strategically use your PTO. Plan your time off in 2025 wisely so you can recharge and maintain balance. #goals #motivation #newjob

Protect your mental health at all cost.
If you need to take the time off today, take it! Use your PTO. Phone a friend. Go on a walk. Eat that junk food you’ve been wanting to try. Turn off the news. Work can wait.

The “Couple’s Day”…… PTO, if used correctly, is one of the most powerful benefits that helps me stay at 100% inside and outside of work. My company is great about offering it, and I believe it should be used regularly. This year, my wife and I have become more intentional with how we use our PTO. With some financial goals in mind, we've cut back on big vacations and weekend getaways. So what to do with all that leftover time off? Enter the "Couple’s Day"—the simplest, most rewarding concept. We pick a random day off, put our phones on DND, and just focus on each other. A few weeks ago, we spent less than $100 on a day that included a relaxed workout, a coffee date, 18 holes of golf, and lunch by the river. The best part? We felt completely recharged—not just for work, but as parents—because we made time for each other. I highly recommend it: take a day off, spend it with your partner, and if you plan it right, you won't miss a beat at work.
