I'm excited to share my progress on the Cork 12L avalanche airbag for FIS Freeride World Tour athletes! Over the past nine weeks I've been hard at work developing functional prototypes for my thesis project at the University of Oregon College of Design Sports Product Design program. Weighing only 2465g (5.4lbs) and utilizing a new, innovative airbag closure I designed, this system remains securely closed yet enables the user to still trigger the inflation effortlessly. It’s extremely low profile, minimal literage, and allows for maximum flexibility when throwing tricks. Over the next semester I look forward to refining the aesthetics, adding branding, and hitting a 1700g weight goal. To learn more please check out my web page on the product: https://lnkd.in/ggZaKdxv I want to give a big thanks to the hard and softgoods supporters of this project from NUWA fabrics, WASA Sweden, and Duraflex Group for their help. This project wouldn't have been possible without the advice, mentorship, and help from Carly Mick, Carly C. Anderson, Pete Gompert, and Susan Sokolowski, PhD
