Not for the first time, ever, but the first time on Linkedin, I am going to make a contentious comment. The Evening Standard newspaper has stated that Transport for London identified flaws in some elements of floating bus stops. Let's be realistic here. Floating bus stops; cycle lanes; pavements; and roads are relatively perfectly safe (sans pot holes). It is the people USING them that ARE the danger. Look at the video in the news article. CYCLISTS: SLOW down; LOOk around; be AWARE of other road users, especially moped users and pedestrians; GIVE WAY to people and vehicles in your path; STOP racing through traffic; STOP riding down the sides of large vehicles that are turning left or right; OBEY traffic lights; and please, please please STOP WHINGING about how hard done by you are. It is boring. Especially as many of you are causing YOUR own risk and your OWN danger. But of course, I am entirely wrong, and those 100 or so cyclists I see on my 20mph round trip everyday on my moped putting themselves at risk and danger, doesnt really happen. Apparently.
