From the archive: It is 2020, my hometown's FC announces its brand new stadium. I lose my mind from watching a 5-acre asphalt parking lot in a city that has 100 days above 100F. In the spirit of, what I now believe is -simulating the obvious- I tried to prove (mostly to myself), what if we add trees? Spoiler, just out of the effect of shading, temperature seemed to drop from 40°C to 32°C (105°F to 85°F) in some spots. Yeah, it is still hot; but have you even been on an asphalt surface without shading on a hot summer day? "La sombra del fresnito" is real.
