Helping Owners/Founders through my expertise in Technology, Ai and Automation tools that are affordable
Starting to see some HUGE sign-on bonuses for nursing staff - up to $50k in some cases! But when I look at the employer brand reputation of these organizations, I can understand why they are struggling to hire. So why don't hospitals and health systems take all that money they spend on travel nurses and huge sign-on bonuses and use it to create a better experience for their employees? According to the NSI report and others, employers can save over $1.57 million for every 10 travel nurses they replace with direct hires. That's a great budget to spend on creating better, customized benefits and a more engaged and dedicated workforce. Plus, there are alternatives that are more affordable, like international student nurses as temporary fillers and hiring international nurses if your organization is eligible. This can increase diversity while simultaneously increasing your average retention numbers, as well as continuity and quality of care for patients. What do you think, nursing and healthcare recruiting experts? Am I way off base? Let's discuss. #nursing #healthcare #recruiting #diversity #retention

Nurse Educator | Leader | Professional Development Specialist | An empowered nurse who strives to empower fellow nurses through continuing education and professional development.
I remembered being a shapeshifter while I was working as a nurse in a pediatric hospital years ago. In a span of a week, I became a zombie, then a bedside nurse, then a nurse educator, then a worm. Nurses are as fluid as water, shapeshifting when the situation calls for it. They wear many hats, often beyond their job descriptions. In a single shift or a single day, they can be electricians, plumbers, therapists, counselors, chefs, hairdressers, bartenders, entertainers – all while ensuring their patients receive the best care possible. This is why it's so important to take care of our nurses. They do so much, often beyond what is asked of them. In today’s healthcare landscape, let’s continue advocating for them through: 👉🏼Fair compensation - Nurses deserve wages that reflect their dedication and the multifaceted roles they play. 👉🏼Mental health support - Access to mental health resources and regular check-ins to support their well-being. 👉🏼Adequate staffing - Ensuring nurse-to-patient ratios that allow for safe and effective care. 👉🏼Professional development - Opportunities for continuous learning and career advancement. 👉🏼Recognition and respect - Valuing and acknowledging the hard work and sacrifices nurses make daily. 👉🏼Research and policy development - Investing in research to identify best practices and policy changes that support nursing roles and improve working conditions. Let’s continue to support and advocate for our nurses, who are the backbone of healthcare. #Nursing #Healthcare #NurseAdvocacy #SupportNurses #MondayMotivation #NursesOnLinkedin

Nurses should never feel alone. Sick patients often feel alone, and their care team is a comfort. For a hospitalized patient, nurses provide 24/7 patient comfort. Loneliness will abound if 'the system' terminates good nurses for speaking up in safety and compliance matters. Here's a condensed version of a story from a nurse this week: "Hi Ann, I'm among those thankful nurses regarding your post. I took on a nursing role at a community hospital in my area. I was trained very poorly, taught to do skills improperly, and witnessed horrific things. I reported my experience to my manager and asked for additional training. I was immediately terminated. It's made me feel awful about myself as a nurse, but I've almost lost faith in our system and am considering leaving nursing altogether. It's good to see it wasn't just me. It's sad to see it's so common, although your post has made me feel less alone. Thank you, Ann." Good nurses are being fired and struggling to get hired. If you're a recruiter, please be sensitive when a nurse says their last role was not a good fit. The last thing an unemployed nurse needs is someone who makes them feel less than. Nurses are terminated daily to no fault of their own to silence them. Many nurses are searching for a better organization that will appreciate them. What can we tell a displaced nurse who still wants to care for patients at the bedside? It's a vicious cycle as healthcare employers often won't hire an unemployed nurse. The true stories can't be told, as most healthcare organizations won't hire a nurse 'with baggage.' Go figure. 💔 #patientsafety #nursesonlinkedin #healthcareonlinkedin #compassion #empathy #leadership #compliance

Accidental Foreign Nurse Lifeguard - 1 saved life at a time | 18 yrs Travel nurse | Mentor WORK SMART NOT HARD | Investor | Philanthropist | Mixologist | Drone Pilot | enjoying life at its best
I agree on this great point: Use of nurses as their recruiter with great referral incentive. This is the most reasonable to do— going to someone who has the most NURSE network: the nurses themselves. However, I will shake my head on this —- “We don't want to use an agency nurse or contracted nurses, we want our team members to tell us about that potential person, and we say thank you for doing that." - Dr Foley ========= Hackensack uses Passport USA which is a HealthCarousel foreign nurse “contract”agency with liquidated damages repayment clauses that can be as high as $20,000 + (which a lot of big hospitals do too). Is this also part of retention strategy? Nothing wrong with “reasonable” repayment clauses. But I think proper disclosure is important to the integrity of the article. To nurse leaders, please do proper disclosures and include ALL strategies when stating your “worforce solution”. The international nurse community is watching. No need to hide things if you are doing things right. #IDontBelieveEverythingIseeOnTheInternet
