Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping, and neither are we. This year, I’m participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a cause close to my heart. The resilience and courage of those affected by this devastating disease inspire me every day to take action. By walking, I’m not just raising funds; I’m helping to support the critical work of the Alzheimer’s Association. They provide 24/7 care and support for families facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and they’re at the forefront of research to find a cure. But I can’t do this alone. I need your support to make a real impact. Here’s how you can help: Donate: Your contributions fund essential care, support, and research efforts. Register: Join me as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Share: Spread the word about this important cause and encourage others to get involved. Together, we can bring hope to millions and work towards a future free from Alzheimer’s. Please consider supporting my walk by making a donation or joining me in this cause. Your support means the world to those impacted by Alzheimer’s. Let’s make a difference together. The battle against Alzheimer's and other dementia-related diseases is incredibly personal to me, having recently lost both my grandad and grandpa to them. To honor their memory and contribute to the fight, I've committed to running the AJ Bell Manchester 10K for Alzheimer's Society. This isn't just about the run; it's about making every step count towards a future where Alzheimer's and dementia no longer steal our loved ones from us. To make this vision a reality, I need your support. I've set up a fundraising page where you can donate, and every penny raised will go directly towards research and support services for those affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. No amount is too small, and your generosity can make a huge difference in this fight. If you can't donate at this time, please don't underestimate the power of sharing. By sharing this post, you're helping to spread the word and increase the reach of fundraising efforts, which is just as valuable. Please consider donating through the link below. Together, we can make a significant impact. Thank you for your support, kindness, and for being part of this journey with me. Let's run towards a cure, one step at a time. #AlzheimersAwareness #DementiaSupport #Manchester10K #RunningForACause #TogetherWeCan --- https://lnkd.in/ehZi25MS

This Sunday I’m taking part in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride to raise funds and awareness for mens health on behalf of Movember, and I need your help. Movember is the world’s largest men’s health organisation focused on universal, game-changing and realistic outcomes for prostate cancer and men's mental health. Prostate Cancer Statistics - Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. - 307,000 men will die from prostate cancer each year. Suicide Prevention – Men’s Mental Health Suicide is the biggest killer of men aged 20-39, with ¾ of all suicides being male. 510,000 men die from suicide each year, that's one every minute. This is a number that we seek to drastically change and can only be made possible through raising funds and awareness to help prevent men from dying too young. Please support me on my ride by going to https://lnkd.in/gwmgREY and making a donation to help fund men's health programs, and will help benefit men all over the world.

*SHAMELESS FUNDRAISING POST* please spare a few minutes and perhaps make a small donation... In just 2 days’ time, Saturday 6th July, I will be throwing myself out of an aeroplane at 10,000 ft to raise money and awareness for Parkinson's UK Every pound helps bring real breakthroughs closer for people like myself with Parkinson's. Together we will find a cure and improve life for the Parkinson's community. About Parkinson’s: - Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, and currently there is no cure. - Anyone can get Parkinson’s, young or old. In the UK, around 153,000 people are already living with Parkinson’s. - Every hour, 2 more people are diagnosed. That’s the same as 18,000 people every year. 1 in 37 people alive today will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s in their lifetime. My JustGiving link is below: https://lnkd.in/euUHSWzZ

Proven strategic CFO with deep experience helping small to mid-market companies grow and optimize long-term value.
Friends and Colleagues , I hope that this finds you well and enjoying your summer! As I shared here in the last few weeks, I was diagnosed in early 2023 with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. I’m fighting like hell to stave off this disease! The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is on September 28. I am fundraising with the Alzheimer’s Association to find a cure. Fact: In the US there are approximately 7 million people living with Alzheimer’s and by 2030 it is projected to be 8.5 million. I need your help meeting my fundraising goal of $7500. Please consider a donation toward a cure. All donations will be helpful and greatly appreciated! Below is a link to my Alz walk team site to donate and/or join our team for the walk. Also below are some facts and reasons to donate. https://lnkd.in/ebuhDPva Do you know someone who is living or lived with Alzheimer’s. Perhaps a beloved family member-a parent or grandparent, or a friend, neighbor or colleague? There is no proven way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s begins 20 or more years before memory lost. There is currently no cure. Ultimately, Alzheimer’s disease is fatal. Lifespan depends on age of diagnosis, other health conditions, lifestyle and treatments. People age 65 and older survive an average of four to eight years after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s dementia, yet some live as long as 20 years.

Do you know someone living with dementia or Alzheimer’s? My grandmother, who lived to 104, had Alzheimer’s, but we were fortunate that despite her memory loss, she remained a happy, playful, and social person until the very end. The same goes for my mother-in-law, whose Alzheimer’s started in her 70s. She still lives at home with her family and continues to be generally happy. In both cases, there was one common factor—lack of movement. Whether due to their environment or personal choice, they didn’t have the opportunity to stay active. Research continues to reveal how important movement is in preventing cognitive decline, yet it feels like we need more common-sense strategies to prevent dementia. There’s hope that future research will uncover simple, everyday solutions so we no longer feel like dementia is inevitable. How has movement impacted someone you know with dementia or Alzheimer’s? Let’s keep the conversation going.
