These are essential issues to address. #housingcrisis
This year’s Urban Land Institute Fall Meeting in Los Angeles comes at a milestone moment for both ULI and the city. Real estate leaders have gathered here from all around the world, looking towards the future of our industry and the future of cities everywhere. From downtown vacancy rates and the affordability of housing, to inequity, homelessness, and the effects of climate change, urban areas today are facing many challenges. And still, we remain optimistic. This morning, as co-leader of the ULI Sponsorship Committee, I was honored to introduce 4 incredible leaders for a panel discussion about the opportunities ahead: Vincent Reina, Senior Advisor for Housing and Urban Policy at the White House Domestic Policy Council; Laura Hines-Pierce, Co-CEO of Hines; Clarence Anthony, CEO of National League of Cities; and my Gensler partner, Co-CEO Diane J. Hoskins, FAIA, NCARB. Working together, our industry has the power to shape the future of cities in today’s radically changing world.
