Congress truly has no idea how detrimental this will be to so many businesses. They’re putting their finger on the market and choosing winners. Please call your senator. Here’s what to say. Identify yourself State your name and where you are from. You can say something like, "My name is [your full name], and I live at [address]". Share your position Let the senator know your position on the issue you are calling about. You can say something like, Explain the impact Tell the senator what effect you think a particular bill, if it becomes law, will have on you, your children, business, or community. Be concise, but specific. Be courteous Be polite, even if you disagree strongly

Respectfully disagree. See Eric’s notes for details. It’s about accountability. Right now, the tool you use to do your work is suspect. Time to adjust your efforts.

Dustin, I will respectfully disagree with your position on this matter. I think the difference is a fundamental lack of understanding on what the U.S. Government can and cannot do to a foreign-owned company operating in the United States. The government cannot tell a business what it may or maynot do with the data it collects, and further, it has no mechanism of enforcement. The government CAN tell U.S. owned businesses what data they can collect, how they must handle and protect it, and the consequences for mishandling or misusing this data. Whether the entertainment media business is inconvenienced by this issue does not supercede the government's responsibility to protect the privacy of its citizens. The goal is not to shut down #tiktok or harm business, the goal is to change the ownership to a trusted ownership group that can will obey American laws.

I have one thing to say on this. Something would fill the vacuum of no TikTok. Ie MySpace The first one that was really geared to share music and thoughts. Up agains Facebook, AiM and others.

Do you know which American apps the PRC bans? All of them. Do you know why? Because they know what they're doing with TikTok and they don't want that being done to them.

I don’t think you have to look any further then who actually owns Tik tok , a country that has many cyber battles and interference , it’s not about cultures
