This holds profound significance in the CMF design process, particularly for startups and corporates venturing into innovative spaces like electric vehicles (EVs). Embarking on a hypothetical exploration with an EV brand, our objective is to evoke distinct emotions through exterior colours signifying: vitality, expansiveness, and authenticity. These guiding words unveil an immersive journey, revealing the deep emotional resonance required of our chosen colours. 'Authentic Expansive Vitality', this phrase intuitively draws us to hues echoing life and nature, steering us towards the serene coolness of greens or blues. Yet, within an EV's innovative landscape, these colours must also resonate with a sense of vital- expansive spirit. This prompts us to venture into the unconventional. Can warmer hues like yellow or red encapsulate a tech-forward edge? Envision 'Mars Dust Red' or 'Jupiter Dust Yellow', colours that, though grounded, exude an ethereal quality, seamlessly blending India's ambitious space dreams with an EV's contemporary ethos. But how? These otherworldly hues are echoes of India's recent achievements in space exploration, including ambitious manned missions, which have sparked a tech-oriented mindset among GenZ and millennials. The widespread admiration for ISRO, underscored by the record-breaking viewership of the moon landing, signifies a national tilt towards space exploration. This innovation stride has transcended mere national accomplishment to become a part of our collective identity, inspiring a fresh narrative in colour storytelling. This leads us to ponder the emotional characteristics these colours should embody. Delving into the brand storytelling process demands an exploration into their emotional depth. Should these colours project a dry, otherworldly aura or a vibrant, life-affirming gloss? Do we envision them with a texture granularity or a boldness in multi-layered geometric textures? Oscillating between these considerations, we align colour with brand ethos until the colours begin to articulate their narrative autonomously. We are close to the new Phoebe Philo collection launch. 🙀 BoF wrote an interesting article today regarding her new collection and more importantly - her ability to break the rules. We all know the fashion industry needs some new operating models to make the business model sustainable - especially with the macro environment driving the need for more agility and efficiency. I wrote a post about this on Thursday - what if fans could actually own brands? Surely that is better than shareholders owning brands? Or is it? What will she do? As a designer who is known to innovate and tap into the zeitgeist better than most - anything is possible coming from her. Looking at the visual clues Phoebe shared, we can have a bit of fun guessing what her creative and operational strategy might be. No stores, all digital, something immersive yet timeless? Here are some ideas - ⭐️Launch an audio-only digital fashion show with 3D sound design to immerse listeners and spark imagination. ⭐️Create an invite-only digital community for top customers to provide feedback and preview designs via AR. ⭐️Partner with a gaming company to bring her designs into the metaverse through digital avatars and virtual goods. ⭐️Produce on-demand custom couture based on customer inputs using AI design and digital manufacturing. ⭐️Develop a direct-to-avatar fashion line for use across metaverse platforms and virtual worlds. ⭐️Implement a made-to-order model powered by body scanning tech and production-on-demand to eliminate waste. ⭐️Host a digital design competition where community members can submit and vote on product ideas or fabrics. ⭐️Launch a community membership system where brand engagement and referrals unlock special access and products. ⭐️Create an interactive digital muse experience with her aesthetic brought to life via VR and original music. ⭐️Develop a digital fabric swatch library for virtual draping and design using touch/physics tech. ⭐️Implement verification of limited edition physical products paired with circularity tech. ⭐️Launch a council of young design advisors. ⭐️Use 3D body scans and AI to generate personally fitted patterns for made-to-measure garments. ⭐️Produce a documentary series streaming the behind-the-scenes design process from start to finish. ⭐️Develop a line of smart accessories integrating tech like GPS, climate control, or mood lighting. ⭐️Partner with a recycling startup to upcycle used garments into new limited edition pieces. ⭐️Launch an agile design studio utilizing data analytics and direct customer input to guide development. ⭐️Create AR and haptic gloves for virtual garment try-on with touch feedback. ⭐️Implement a distributed manufacturing model producing goods on-demand close to customers globally.
