I'm leaving my job... And my colleagues keep telling me ⤵️ "I will miss you," Or "You're the only manager I like," And here's why... It's because I don't: ❌ Treat them like children, ❌ Or reprimand them if they do something wrong, ❌ And I don't blame them for underperformance... But doesn't that seem counterintuitive? Am I too soft? Maybe... But I do know: ✅ Morale is high on my shifts, ✅ And I see lots of personal and professional growth, ✅ And my colleagues respect what I say. And it is a simple formula. You need to simply treat your colleagues with respect, And treat them like adults, NOT children, And I use every situation, As an opportunity to learn. So, empower your colleagues, Rather than stifle them. By the way, I am only relocating to a new store, But it feels like I'm leaving behind a good legacy... So, I plan on taking the lessons from this store, And using them to better apply my leadership there. What lessons have you learned as a manager?

Try Something New, Seek Discomfort These themes have been at the forefront in our household this summer, and it's been an incredibly enriching experience. This spring, I seized the opportunity to step into a new role as a Strategy Lead for Pricing and Promotion COE alongside my current responsibilities. I found immense satisfaction in this experience for several reasons: Supporting Others: It allowed me to cover a crucial area, giving a new mom peace of mind to enjoy her time away knowing her work was in capable hands. Personal Growth: Exploring an unfamiliar area that I was initially uncertain about turned out to be eye-opening. I not only embraced the challenge but discovered a new passion in leading, strategy, and teamwork. Enhanced Focus: Taking on this new challenge compelled me to sharpen my focus on my current tasks, boosting my performance and productivity. Additionally, stepping out of my comfort zone has reinforced the importance of expanding my network. Building relationships and learning from others have been instrumental in navigating new opportunities and broadening my perspective. I'm eager to continue embracing new challenges and learning experiences as I grow both personally and professionally. Thank you to all of you who made it possible. The day after you receive a promotion to manager.

One of the most rewarding moments in my career was leading a project that saved $5m in costs for the organization and resulting in a revenue of $20m. It was a satisfying and rewarding moment for me to be honest. Oh well! This is past glory!!! The secret wasn’t a groundbreaking strategy—it was collaboration and clarity. Here’s what worked: 1. Clear Communication: We simplified complex data into actionable insights, making it easy for all stakeholders to understand the plan. 2. Cross-Functional Teamwork: By involving sales, operations, and procurement, we ensured alignment and buy-in from everyone involved. 3. Focus on Impact: Every decision was guided by a clear goal: saving costs without compromising quality. This experience reinforced the importance of working together and keeping the end goal in sight. Today, I'm having the most important meeting of my month: 𝑳𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. ✨Here's why it's so important✨ It's not *just* because our assistants are brilliant, hilarious, compassionate, beautiful human beings who strengthen the team and elevate my life. (100% facts). It's also because.... ➡️ Assistant's know what's up. They see our company from a completely different lens, and I need their wisdom in order to lead well. ➡️ They know if we're healthy as a team - they know when we're understaffed or strained. They know what kind of customer feedback we're getting, and where we need more training. They know what snacks people like, and what times of the week are higher traffic for us. They know which projects cause people pain, and they even know which choices I make as a leader have the greatest net positive or negative impact on the company at large. Assistants 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰. They are brilliant advisors, and they truly are the backbone of any great company. ➡️ They're also my future leadership force. Investing in my assistants is the best way to build the strong leadership team I need in the years to come. Meeting regularly not only shows how much I value them, it cultivates trust and partnership, speeding up learning curves not just for them, but for me. It's the best meeting of the month, and I can't wait for our time together today.
